I believe the SCIAC should be able to play 10 games, I know coach Mac wants to play 10.

I'd expect Willamette to return to its traditional 10-game regular season schedule next year.  Consistently scheduling 10 games has really helped the Bearcats both when L&C dropped the ball in 2005 and when GFU did the same this year.  No need to scramble to get games - just take the extra bye.

Which, incidentally, is really helpful this year considering the youth/inexperience on both the o and d-lines.

Yah! See?
The book I'm reading A SHORT HISTORY OF NEARLY EVERYTHING mentions Case School in Cleveland several times and not one mention of LINFIELD or the Bar West Classic.
You guys play nice from now on.

I'd think youth/inexperience would benefit from the 10th game. It's a strong team without much depth that would benefit from an extra bye.

The nine game schedule means less chance for injuries, smaller budget and more time for studies.  If we want more then we gotta earn it in the playoffs.

.....if the distances needed to travel were not expensive, I would think that a 10 game schedule would be good for recruiting. The players like playing games and the fans like watching games. I believe most D1 schools now play 12.

IMO, those guys still need time to gel.  We gave up approximately 30 sacks (give or take) against mighty Sewanee.  With a road trip to a much improved ETBU coming up and the beginning of NWC play following that, extra practice reps are a good thing.

Based on two wins so far, Willamette is a strong team, without experienced depth on its offensive and defensive fronts.   To that extent, it definitely would have benefited from a 10th game.   Linfield has lots of talented depth, and usually can reload.  It should schedule that 10th game, give up that extra bye, and give its fans another game to cheer about.

Whether it's a ninth game or a 10th game, I'd love to see Linfield play St. John's. Now that John Gagliardi isn't coaching anymore, I think they are in better position to take longer regular season trips.

Agree with OCP.  If Linfield ever did get a 10th game we'll wind up having to play WOU/EOU/SOU or have to schedule an NWC team twice in a year and who wants to do something that dumb.

I'd love for the Cats to play a 10th game but only if it was a D3 team that was not a repeat of a conference game (Heck we had to do that last year for our 10th game).

....there is a chance that may happen this year....in post season, if we both make it that far.
