TCN--

Listen, I was at the game, and we did not walk all over the Johnnies. It was a very good game, and we played well, but we were stopped many times, as were they.    I am all for backing the Cobbs, but let's atleast stick to the facts.

Go Cobbs!!
RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:

Collegeville Magic

Linfield fans-

Please don't let this newly self-appointed "Nation" of a Cobber  ::) fool you into thinking that all MIAC fans are stupid.

As much as we Johnnie fans would love to host the Cobbers to beat them again in a few weeks, we're also already researching our tickets to Oregon.

Concordia is a VERY tough team, and will play the Cats better than many expect, but I don't see an upset.

Cobber Nation- Before you forget, one of the Concordia scores early in the SJU0 game was on EXACTLY the same play that SJU ended the game with.  A DB screwed up, and a receiver went untouched for 70+ yards.  If those two "fluke" touchdowns are eliminated, we still won.  Get over it.

GO JOHNNIES!!!!!!

Some of the nation's logic is a bit flawed. Like how Linfield is hanging onto last year's title. Well, they are the undefeated national champs.

Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

After all compared to who got the ink.   Let's see 525 to 4 hundred & something..  31 for 41 beats 28 for 39 anyday.  And what about the TWO over 200 yards WR..  ::)

Uh huh ... but it doesn't beat an NCAA-record 6½ sacks, my man.

Oh wait, oh no, he's going to smite me? Darn.

Not again so soon  Pat ?  ;)
I will have to wait at least  12 hours  ;D.

Collegeville Magic, I am not a anti-Johnnie. You guys are good; you've proven it. On the other hand, Linfield not talking about us cause we dont average 50 points a game makes me wonder. We play the same good or bad team alike. Always allowing about the same amount of points, and with the exception of SJU, scoring about the same amount of points.

Our offense is not a quick strike offense like SJU or Linfield. We control the football. How is Linfield gonna put up 63 points when they dont have the football.

My final prediction...write this down.

Let's see...8 ½ sacks (no playoff record for sacks is listed in the record book) against an un-rated team (beat one guy 9 times?) in a play-off game weighed against 525 yards passing and 7 TDs against the 6th rated team in a play-off game.
Look down everyone! Is there a thumb on the scale?

Nation,

*click*

Now when Linfield beats the Cobbers this Saturday are you going to just vanish or come back and eat your crow?  Based on your four posts so far......I'm betting on the vanishing part.  But maybe you'll prove us wrong.

In terms of final score....don't know and don't care....all I know is that Linfield will be moving on.

From what I have seen you do control the clock very well,,But the cats don't need alot of time just the ball every now and then..    And the morning line is Just 35 at this point..  so that is giving your D a big slap on the back boys so read it right . ;).  We are ave, over 50 a game..  ;D

That thought occurred to me, ungratefulcat, but offense gets a ton of love all over college football. Why not give a D-lineman a little run?

as a former D-line guy...it was nice to see a defensive player some love.  6 1/2 sacks is a once in a lifetime thing.  Hell, that's a season's work for some guys!

I honestly agree with PC.

It would be a shame in my view if that defense were not able to meet that offense this year.

beancounter

To give a bit more credence to desertcats' post on time of possession; Linfield was dead last in the NWC in time of possession.....again.   More than a few reasons for this...of course, the offense, with its' speed, is scoring in a hurry.  But they are aided also by working with a short field.....teams aren't really excited about kicking the ball deep to Hazenberg much....they are sacrificing some field position in order to keep the ball out of Haze's hands.

Concordia might be able to "control the clock"....which is no big deal since everyone has on Linfield this year.   Concordia had better figure a way to slow down Linfield on offense, just like everyone else.  I'm pretty doubtful of it, in fact the idea of limiting Linfield to two TD's is a bit amusing like some of these Cobber fans are thinking....but hey, that is why we play the games I suppose.
