Can't ever remember Pacific students and fans making that kind of noise. Nice stadium.

I believe the NCAA selection team is fearful of the NWC and the possible Damage it will
do this year and in the near future with 2 teams making it in every year,

We are not fooled by the seeding's of the NWC and the WIAC teams. So they put PLU at Linfield
to save Money and  guarantee that only 1 NWC team moves past the first round.
Less collateral damage that way. At least send them different foes in the first round,
And match them up the second round. ;D

The NWC is looking much stronger , Great job guys..... with Pacific beating some Good teams outside the NW in , Menlo, Oxy and Adrian.... PLU   Beats UWEC, Cal Lu and Redlands, and Willamette Beats some good teams. The future of the NWC looks bright..... As always this has been IMHO of TuxGuy and nothing more.
Go Cats!
Leave no doubt!!
One game at a Time!!!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I like what you're saying but calling Oxy, Cal Lu "good teams" this year is a bit of a stretch.  But I think PLU and Pacific are both Legit this year.

Week 4 of the play-offs

I think it is fairly safe to say that the top 4 teams in the nation this year are (alphabetically):

1. Bethel University
2. University of Mary Hardin Baylor
3. University of Mount Union
4. University of Wisconsin at Whitewater"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About time the Wildcats and/or PLU beat some MIAC and WIAC champions.

I interpreted that post as the top 4 based on the ranking criteria.....Cats just don't have the wins against regionally ranked opponents to compare to Bethel, Mt, and WW.  I think an arguement could be made against MHB but those are probably going to be the top 4 seeds in the bracket.  If things turn out as expected, I actually like the Cats chances.  I'd much rather be in line to see Bethel in the Regional than the other 3.....but that's just me! :)
Go Cats!

"Overcoming a six-point halftime deficit, Linfield secured its fifth straight outright Northwest Conference championship and 37th in program history. And by extending their conference-record NWC win streak to 32 games, the Wildcats wrapped up their fourth unbeaten regular season in five years."

Congratulations to the Linfield program! Linfield College is a class act all the way around and from top to bottom. I'm proud to say I'm a Wildcat fan! Thank you!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

I suspect that the selection committee might shake it up this year and do something "out of the box."

First round road trip to Alliance!  ;)
seriously now...do ya really  think they'd send you to Alliance?

Obviously not, I even winked! I fully expect Linfield to host until the Semis. And if the main site is right (and I'm inclined to believe they will be) it'll be a road trip to Alliance at that point.

EDIT: And in my tired state I read it originally wrong, but it still stands. Linfield pretty much guaranteed a number 2 seed and probably a trip to alliance in the Semis if they keep winning.
That's okay MasterJedi I knew what you meant :) Just joking with you my friend. :)

Andy Jamison - Walla Walla Wildcat

I'm hoping that the Wildcat offense doesn't go conservative in the playoffs. They seemed to be very cautious with their offensive play calling vs the Boxers which was similar to both PLU in last years first round and then in the loss to UWO. A team can't play not to lose but instead has to always play to win. Conservative play calling seems to backfire more than not. We've got too many offensive weapons to always run on first and second downs. Teams are going to stack us on early downs and dare us to throw... My guess is we won't. We've got to take shots and mix things up to keep the dc's guessing.  We seem entirely too predictable.

With that said I agree with GT in that Pacific was the best team we've faced all season... Might have been a combination of factors that created the tense game.  A great way to get ready for the first round.

I was very sad to see Tyler Steele injured. What a bummer for him. I can't recall a year when we've had so many season ending injuries to our d-line - maierhoffer hyland Randall steel Poom lime .. Guys have to step up

D O.C.

Guys stepped up in all the blowouts.

Wally Walla, you attracted attention to your posts for the independent opinion of doubt. Now you're a far stretch from 2005 Inches and Guts who described the whole offense on these pages in minute detail.

Pause, consider this team is expected to go deep so they do not want to show their hand before the appropriate time.
(it's stated many fans did not like the "trick" play that ended in a lost ball and ended the season last year, but as frustrated as this fan is/was I liked the attitude. Then again, I come from a generation that would punt on third down.

Anybody notice that in his post game interview, Pacific coach Buckley said their first game next year is against College of Idaho. What's that about?....thanks MonroviaCat for the info..... Guess they're starting out playing a first year NAIA Team.

Buckley doesn't understand how the D3 selection committee works. I guess he'll have to find out the hard way...or he could look at the 2007 Whitworth schedule/results and save himself some trouble in the future.

criswyly

I guess we'll find out in the post season just how good our depth is.........
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Wouldn't make a diff if they get the auto....but what are the chances of that happening.

ha ha ha.  Besides, in that second half the predicable running game was picking up yards in chunks.  The first half, we had trouble with 3rd downs (on offense and defense).  That got better (especially on offense) in the second half and the results speak for themselves.
