I will answer that myself - I'm guessing since he wasn't a senior last year, that might have played a factor.  And the fact that on the field stats are only a part of the award.  But I gotta say Brett is the front runner this year...right along with Dumonceaux from SJU - if Linfield and SJU end up meeting I think he could be the first guy to steadily apply pressure to Elliot. He's a machine.  But we'll cross that bridge if we get there.
To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Maroon & Gold,
We live in Anchorage.  Be happy to meet you for a bit of "Holiday Cheer" if you have the time during the holidays.
We can replay this Saturday's Titanic Battle --- there obviously will be many plays that will need a second or third "look" by the time the holidays roll around.

Save travels to the Catdome.  As Topcat 1 knows I make as many games as possible but the Concordia game just was impossible with Thanksgiving and family responsibilites and all.

He wasn't nominated last year. Having been in Division III for all of 10 weeks when the deadline came, Elliott had exactly zero academic and almost no community service credentials at this level.

Bean,

You could use Memorial, I guess, but didn't your girls go there? Mrs. Coco did.
Take Lafayette.

Pat,

I noticed that there was a sophomore nominated. Isn't that unusual? Is a school wasting a spot, so to speak, by nominating a player so young?

Pat -

Thanks for the info - I figured the community service and academics had something to do with it.  And I had forgotten that he wasn't even nominated last year.  Hopefully he has more off the field attributes this year for the committee to look at.

WC64-- My uncle owns a lodge,  "Summit Lake Lodge" I believe, which is where we will be staying. I think it is near Moose PAss, and about an hour?? away from Anchorage.

Yes Coco.......both heirs to the Beancounter millions went to Memorial.  Which leads me to think that there isn't a school in town I could name without offending someone..... :-[

According to Mapquest it is 1537 miles from Concordia-Moorhead to Linfield and has a driving time of 27 hours.
If the Cobber faithful keep the bus drivers moving they should arrive just about the time the Cat fans start are getting things started at the Elks on Friday night!

Maroon & Gold,
Yes - Moose Pass is about an hour outside of the Big City....Moose Pass is "very quiet" in the winter time but is a busy tourist spot in the summer.  You will fly into Anchorage and then go by car to Moose Pass.  You may want to head to the City at some point during the holidays.  A couple of real good sports bars in Anchorage that carry multiple sporting events live via satellite.....Would be pleased to get together and show you a little Alaskan hospitality if your schedule permits.

"64,

I see you are about to celebrate your 200th post.  Congratulations for meeting that milestone.

Cam Cat,
I saved the 200th for you since it's been a few years since the Boys of Hewitt Hall borrowed the Senior Bench from under the Old Oak Tree!

p.s.  Actually this is the 200th under the new Post Patterns system, since being the less than "techi" I am, I never restored the postings from the old system.... :)

Congratulations to the 'Cat nation on Elliot's Gagliardi nomination.  Good luck!
