That's true and would be fine with me. Did you see Wesley's schedule......10 games but only 5 D3....how is that going to work on the SOS rankings when playoff time comes?
Right?  At least it's a temporary issue for them as they are transitioning into a conference (NJAC) after 4 or 5 years without one.
Go Cats!

...this seems rather strange not having a home football game until mid October.  ::)

Would you rather Linfield suck so we can pick up home games with the likes of Claremont Mudd Scripts or Whittier to start the season?  Linfield's home and homes were up with HSU and CLU and both parties elected not the play Linfield anymore.

So that left two open slots and when you're begging just to get a game you're not in the position to dictate terms.  When Chapman called they only had 3 home games on their 2014 schedule so the deal was if they took the Linfield game it had to be in Orange so they could have a 4th home game this season.  And there was no way Redlands was going to go from UMHB to Linfield on back-to-back weekends.  Linfield could have said no to Chapman and gone to Menlo instead.  Would that have been better?

Yeah, it sucks but it's a result of being out on the far left coast and being really damn good.

Plus it keeps Catdome South happy 😎

Yeah. As hard as it's been for them to schedule D3 games in the past, I'm sure it was even worse for this year when they couldn't do two-year contracts anymore.

If Wesley sweeps those 5 games they should be fine. TMC is a good opponent. Salisbury is rarely bad, though Wesley creamed them this year. Rowan will be competitive in the NJAC, S Virginia probably isn't real good, and LC is good, but they play the most devastating stretch I've seen a D3 school attempt. LC is going to look bad record wise and is probably going to be pretty beat up by the time they get to winnable games, but they aren't a bad team. If Wesley wins those 5 they should be fine. I also think they'll win at Menlo, at Virginia-Lynchburg, and vs College of Faith. Not so sure about Concordia-Selma and Charlotte. Probably have a good shot at Concordia-Selma but I have to think Charlotte will be itching not to lose again to a D3 program this year.

You have to look at who else is in Pool B. TLU picked up a win against LC, so Wesley will have to do better than they did against the common opponent. You have the New England conference, which isn't going to hold a candle to Wesley's SOS. And I think you still have the SAA. An undefeated SAA champion with a full slate could be the only real competition for Wesley, and Wesley's reputation will probably carry them. I haven't actually check on who is Pool B this year but I think those are the major players.

Cool Cat, your caution should be our two tackles, I hope they are having nightmares, not an old fart like me. Went on the Redlands site and took a look at the photos next to box score tab. In short go to the last page of pictures to make it easy, kudos to the OL coach for teaching holding, of course in D3 it does not get called, why we did not do the same to #55 I will never understand. In one picture the LF linemen were undressing the kid and they were not on a date....look how badly his jersey is turned...Coach L, you need to check it out.

Good luck against the Lutes,...I like the Cats even though I am allergic. BTW, your players were gentlemen at our stadium too.

Seriously Olddog. You're going to the holding card? You must have a kid on the team that has too many participation trophies in his room.

RFB, no I am not (we got our butts whipped fair and square) , your missing the point or observation in regards to #55. When I played I would have held the poop out of him, we did not, I would have tackled him to save our QB...These are just observations. I just think technically LF linemen did a better job, including getting their hands inside and holding, additionally getting off the double teams and chipping on a backer. Holding is part of the game, and one should do it well. I am been saying this in games we won by 40. One thing I hate about D 3 refs. BTW the reason we got a sideline penalty is a student photographer got in the way of a ref...nice

Bluenote....Wesley will take care of their own even if they have to travel every week in the playoffs. They are used to it. Getting us at home was an aberration.

Funny stuff CalCat.  ;D

olddog, I was surprised by no media line. Redlands is the only venue I have been to that doesn't have one.

Cal Cat, I doubt the photog was a transfer from the Regals, we dropped all remedial class after I went there it would have been impossible for her to be admitted.....UR has lost many very good IE players because of admissions and they end up with the Regals.

oh ya.... I remember the year we played 1 non D3 team and that was enough to eliminate us from the playoffs in Pool B....and they are playing 5 this year. Now I get it.  ???
Plus I believe playoff criteria also includes wins vs. D3 and possibly regional wins.

wildcat11

It seems like every year the D3 playoff committee changes their mind with what criteria they're going to "emphasis".

Did anybody in McMinny have trouble streaming the Wildcats the last couple games? ???

The Chapman game was pretty bad but the Redlands game was decent.
