The NWC was a two team conference for 30 years.
The NWC has been gapping between LINFIELD and the rest of the conference for 14 years.
Beating yourself with St. Thomas and Oshkosh might keep a team out of Elite east of the Cascades.

Spot on, DOC!!

Those come from behind losses to Wesley, CLU and last year didn't help either.   Last year's team, with the stars aligned (some good health), could have been in the Stagg Bowl.   This year's team can play even-up with anyone and can change the perception back east.

Another fun Homecoming at the Catdome watching the Cats do their thing. Really good to see so many alumni coming out to support and enjoy the Cats. It continues to impress me by the turnout all due to the tradition of a great program and all the work and dedication by Adminsitration, Coaches, and most importantly past and present players.  Over a lot of years I've seen some great Cat QB's and when it is all said and done #10 will be right there...you gotta love his play and leadership. 11 keeps telling us there is upside to this group of Cats and l think he is right on. If they keep working and improving it could be an epic year. We all know how tough it is at the top so any letdown won't work because we all know of a couple of teams that won't stop working and improving and a couple of NWC teams still on the schedule that will want to ambush the Cats making their season. This program keeps me in touch with so many old and new alumni which l much appreciate. Oh there is one favor... Penalties Whitworth 2-17 Linfield 11-110...we need to fix👌

Yeah, it's an issue with the music and youtube.

Try watching it with your phone on the blog:  http://catdomealumni.blogspot.com/2014/10/2014-linfield-footballs-scoreboard.html

Just another reason I really like our young QB:

"It is an amazing accomplishment to extend that winning streak to 59," sophomore quarterback Sam Riddle wrote in an email. "The tradition at Linfield is so rich, and to know that you are apart of it is a special feeling. Although we secured it, we still have the whole second half of the season to play. There is no slowing down for this team just because we extended the streak."

"It always gives me the chills running out of the tunnel and into the Catdome," Riddle said. "But know that it was homecoming and having all the Alumni there watching makes it a little bit different of a feel. The legacy that those players made is what is the foundation of this program. The respect for those people that have been through what you are going through, all the blood, sweat and tears, is something that not everyone gets to experience. It is much bigger than just the game of football."

ADvantage 'Catdome = 2014 Game 6 Preview: Linfield (5-0) at Lewis & Clark (0-6)

Dylan Lewis in "Get to know a Cat " Smith quote "it never went to 40" was quite a moment at Catdome South Renner annex...the best part was after quote was bellowed for about the 6th time from coaches box Catdome South in unison picked up the chant .  Half didn't even know what they were chanting about but they had coach Smith's back in true Catdome fashion. It was a great look to see the Cat sideline looking up at the stands with big smiles for both coach and Catdome South...even better was Redlands players on field looking our way probably with a WTF look on their faces.

Love it--I still find myself chanting it occassionally....was at a highschool game the other night and pretty sure they clock didn't go to 40......luckily I only screamed it in my head....:)

Unfortunately, the refs also looked to the Catdome sideline with that WTF look. They never had a clue that they had screwed up and forced the Cats to call an unnecessary timeout.
"My only feeling about superstition is that it's unlucky to be behind at the end of the game."

I am proud to have picked the chant after Coach said it three times and then Hazenberg began on the field.

Should the Reddogs win their conference and head to McMinnville I think the game should begin with that cheer. Riddle would get a kick out of it.
