News from the Laramie. Looks like a lineman needs a school for next season?

The story seems a little odd and the comments that follow it only make it more odd.

Have not seen the bearkitties this year, but after reading the PLU score I hope our starters can get some work in this weekend.
I have seen both the Bearcats and the Wildcats this year. Willamette relies on big plays. In their win over CLU each drive had at least one play of well over 20 yards, except for the very short field on one drive. When they don't get the big play, they do not score much. Linfield doesn't give up big plays. CLU was able to move the ball on the Willamette D, but the Kingsmen have trouble hanging on to the ball and finishing. Linfield doesn't give up the rock. There are always the intangibles in a rivalry game, but I think the Cats starters will get a half of play and second team in the second half.

Season is pretty much over for Wyoming... Coach Bohl is looking to the future with his own young recruits. All I know is that a D1 lineman from Beaverton is out of a scholarship. Hope he's OK... when he starts looking to play again D3 means no waiting.

Looks like we're the last region to get one of these started up. So, I'll be happy to organize one if we can get at least 10 reliable voters. We can use D3football.com's West Region team list as eligible teams to consider. I'm hoping to get two or three people from each conference to participate, if possible. With no more than one representative/fan from each school.....just to have a fair and unbiased poll as possible. Since we're halfway through this season already, I will probably won't start until the 2015 season.

This could be fun, considering (as we all know) the West is where the power conferences in DIII reside  :P  ;)

So if you're fan of a West region team (MIAC, WIAC, MWC, IIAC, SCIAC, UMAC, or NWC) and interested in doing this next year, you can send me a message or sign up here:

1. 02 Warhawk (UWW - WIAC)
2. Hazzben (Bethel - MIAC)
3. MasterJedi (UWW - WIAC)
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Head over the West Region Fan Poll thread and sign up if you're interested.

If the Wildcats don't start playing some tougher teams we're going to have starters without enough playing time to earn a Letter. ;D

QuoteRyan's take: Linfield. The Wildcats didn't reach the 70-plus mark that other top-10 teams did in Week 8, but that's certainly not an indictment on the talent the team has. This week pick isn't an indictment, either. Willamette is more than five-scores better than Linfield's opponent from last week, and I don't expect the Linfield to play into a particularly drastic margin this week. Still, Linfield can probably hang 40-something on the Bearcats and win comfortably.

I'm really not that impressed with everybody's amazement at the teams that are putting up 70 points + a game like these guys seem to be. WE could score a bunch more if we wanted to IMHO. But Joe doesn't pile it on like some teams do .......

Amen Brother. Plus K
I think it is wrong to run the scores up as well!
Anybody can score big time against a weaker team.
Give the non starters plenty of time, they deserve it
for all they put up with in practice.

agreed about Joe and the Cats but what evidence do you have for the other teams running it up--from what I've heard and read--they all bring in backups pretty early when able...
Go Cats!

I have no idea what the other teams do....just not sure it's much of a storyline to be impressed with.
