LBC...does that mean there can be no smart blowhards?

rockcat

I know you're right.  It's always funny though how the people who yell the loudest are the ones people take notice of.

And yes Dens, you are both smart and a blowhard. ;)

Fa natic...the die has already been cast.  Alex Smith has a $20 mil bonus in his wallet and was the number one overall pick overall in the draft.  Elliott cannot surpass that.

While biased isn't always stupid, in this case it is cover for saying something pretty ridiculous....

I don't think it was a ridiculous thing to say. My intention there was that IF Elliot had stayed at Utah, it may very well have been him with the $20M in his pocket and no one might ever have heard of Alex Smith.  The point was also that they are BOTH good QBs but I have not so far been impressed with Smith. Time will tell.

Dens...."smart blowhard" is a classic oxymoron.  Smart knows when to put a lid on it....

Fanatic.....how can you not be impressed with Smith??   He never lost a game as a starter at the d1 level, including a BCS bowl game.  It is very unlikely Elliott could have pulled the same thing.  Not impossible, but very unlikely.   If the draft gurus (who are right more than wrong) thought Brett can do what Smith did, they would be talking him being a first round pick.   That isn't happening.   Drop the purple and red pompom for a second, wouldja??

Royal...that is pretty clever.  You filter all your e-mails unless they are on your list.   Good luck making a flight reservation confirmation........... ;D

I haven't been able to.  I just get that big blank window.  I did just register today...  Is this something that I should have registered for last week in order to be elligible?

Unfortunately, yes. Deadline was a half-hour before the first playoff games kicked off.

I hardly carry purple & red pompoms. I'm not the type who only ever sees good on their team.  My point was that all of this is predicated on IFs and MAYBEs.  IF Brett had been there, MAYBE he would have done this or done that.  But unfortunately, there's no way to ever win that argument.

I'm not convinced Smith will have a long and prosperous NFL career.  There have been plenty of #1 draft pick busts and plenty of successes that have gone undrafted.  Maybe he'll prove me wrong but only time will tell for sure.

Ah, dang.  I saw that and thought it meant every week the deadline is 1/2 hour before they kickoff.

Ah fan atic....good to see you back pedal so fast.  I'll let you have the last word from your heels.

Royal....you give desertcat an e-mail address that blocks everyone but people on your list.  Do you give out fictitious phone numbers too??  As I said...very clever.

I think that's gentlemanly of you except it's not backpeddling: I've said all along that this is all ifs and maybes.  If Brett had been there, he could have been the #1 pick --but of course there's no way to prove coulds, ifs, maybes, and so on unless you're a star trek fan and can go back in time to create a parallel universe.

Ah, where's Spock when you need him?

Beancounter-
I don't feel like getting dirty e-mails and other junk mail clouding up my inbox...I used that e-mail account because I didn't want to get more junk mail from D3...get it?  It is clever to have two e-mails...one for just family and friends, and the other for miscellaneous crap!

Mighty Royal

I do this same thing.  I access a lot of news sites and many of them want you to register in order to gain access to "registered users" features.  It's strictly for advertising. They want to be able to tell advertisers they get 100,000 unique users every month.

Problem with that thinking is that my website alone allows me to have up to 1,000 e-mail addresses...

I have heard rumors that Coco and his lovely wife Mrs. Coco have a couple honored guests From Minnesota comming out to see them this weekend? Coco, can you fill us in on the mystery visitors and where you may be taking them during their visit to CatDome Country?

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in taking up a collection of corn cobbs to help feed some of the homeless stray pigs in the area? I thought it might be a nice jesture to honor the Cobbers comming to town.

So as much as want to see St John's at the Catdome I think I am ready for the MIAC to be sent packing.  Whenever I read the crap on the MIAC board I just want to gouge my flippin' eye out!

What does the crap on this board make you want to do?

D O.C.

Focus on winning your game this week so you can come out and personally stop it.

Crap talking from the MWC - now I've seen it all. The conference who is automatically given a playoff bid no matter what so that a much more deserving team from say the NWC or MIAC can't go. If Lewis & Clark really wanted to win a game this year, all they had to do was get a game with someone from that conference. "Pio's in a rout, leave no doubt!"
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.
