Cat fa natic....invest in a digital recorder (like TiVo, which is a service and another post I suppose).   I've watched portions of the Stagg Bowl more than 100 times in the last year.    Digital quality beats a videotape.  And the price of these machines, like all electronics, is coming down.

I appreciate the tip. Actually, I was given a TiVo last Christmas but didn't care for the monthly charges. But I was able to swap the TiVo during those big after-Christmas sales Best Buy was having and picked up a Panasonic DVD recorder/player. It does pretty much everything that TiVo does, including being able to pause live recording, without the monthly charges.

The one problem is that being out in the sticks, we have some "issues" with our cable feed and get the occassional distortion. The local ABC channel is almost unwatchable.

Good luck to Linfield Saturday.  Although I have admitted MIAC loyalties, it would be a nice trip out to Oregon again if SJU beats UWW.  By all rights, that Concordia team should have beaten SJU.  They have a tough run defense but I think that Elliot will pick their secondary apart; thank God he'll be around only for the remainder of this year.   I do not think, although I would hope otherwise, that SJU could beat you this year.   This Linfield team will probably be the first one to have consecutive titles since MUC as I do not think that the East has anyone as strong either.  I don't know if you've seen the veer option yet this year but you'll see it with Concordia.  Concordia probably has the ugliest uniforms in the MIAC..brutal.   Enjoy the game and don't go too hard on the Cobbers in the 4th quarter.  My prediction:  Linfield 56 Concordia 10.  Sorry Cobber fans.  As good as Terry Horan is, Linfield talent and Locey will be too much this year.

Catville Commissioner Elect

Tuxguy,

Hopefully no personal foul this week.  I am planning on being there at 7:00 or 7:15.  Don't know if I can talk Mrs Topcat into going.  I can't understand why, she knows  how nice of a guy you are and the rest.  I think she may be afraid that I would do something to humiliate her.  I just couldn't imagine she would think I would do that.  I am still working on it, but I will be there.

Hope to see some Cobber fans there.  I think the first drink should be on us since that is the only good thing they will see this weekend.

Page 2 of the Sports section, end of the Pac 10 update article. Josh Swogger, the #2 at Wazzu is apparently looking to transfer to a D1AA school for his senior year since Alex Brink beat him out for the starting spot. Short blurb says WSU coach will be meeting with him to talk him off the ledge.

I think the cobber fan bus left the great white north yesterday morning, but the team plane flew out this morning.

Hey Tux: I'm always around, listening and watching and guiding some as well. It is a true honor to guide your guy as well as many of the other CATS. I take it very seriously. I think you can see how much AH has grown... a real young man who will be a great guide as well. So, tomorrow... Linfield rocks and the Cobs will be cooked! The CATS 37, the COBS 17.

Speaking of videotaped games...is there any way to get a copy of the Willamette game...I heard on this board that it was televised in Salem....

It was televised in Salem.  You can probably try the local station that does the local programming.

Capital Community Television
(503) 588-2288

Don't know if they offer video tapes on a regular basis or not, but you'd think they could do something for you.

You can order the DVD of the Linfield vs. Wilammette game. I just received mine and they (CCTV) did an excellent job. $25 for the DVD + $3 postage = $28.00  (the VHS is the same cost so DVD
is the best option)

Mail check with a short note so they know what it's for to:

Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

According to the ASC in-game update, it's now 30-14 Wesley after a UMHB fumble and Wesley TD.  Seems like some of the playoff teams are playing above their heads or are better than expected in head-to-head competition.
