Head to the Hotel Oregon rooftop, pound a few Kris Kringles, and you'll see a UFO!

Welcome! Hope your trip is good but not too good.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Headed from 5 corners, Washington at 6:30. Going to be tailgating by 8. I've got a feeling that the cats have something good in store for us. I've also got an itch, but that's probably unrelated

CAT BAT 22

This has been a pretty mellow week on the boards considering what's happening tomorrow.  Where is everyone? !

Well, finding a freshly dead hawk under my Angel Trumpet tree today and surfing yesterday. That's kind of exciting.

It's also a period of mourning.

Catjumper you are a wealth of knowledge. I've witnessed most of those post season games.

Not sure I'd elevate it to the level of knowledge - maybe mildly pertinent trivia. Starting in the early 1980s, I've enjoyed being at most of those games as well.

Also not sure why the big fuss about Tom Knecht's performance last week. Heck, he's been coming in at halftime for the 'Cats most of the year.  ;D

In all seriousness, Linfield's greatest and most consistent strength this season has been its defense. And it can be argued Knecht got dropped into the most tense moment of the Wildcats' season and performed admirably. Looking forward to more of the same Saturday, and we'll see how it turns out against a terrific Mary Hardin-Baylor program.

And for our visitors from Texas, my Third Street vote is for the Blue Moon: a taste of old-school Mac that hasn't changed since my undergrad days over 30 years ago. Moreover, I have it on good authority from a grad of about 30 years prior to that that it hadn't changed to any significant degree since he was in school.

So... Riddle or Knecht tomorrow???

knecht was injured in practice so we are running a no QB formation with direct snaps to Payne or Hoff who learned to play running back this afternoon.  I've also heard rumors that wildcat11 found an extra game of eligibility and would be available in the event that we needed an 18 yard completion.
Go Cats!

Late night on the boards here in TX. Doing some grad school stuff and anticipating a good day tomorrow. The Cru have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Keys for UMHB will be their QB's running the ball. With the Catdome Secondary as prolific as they are, Anderson, Jackson, and possibly Boles will have to be ready to dash for the sticks. Anderson, at times, has been timid to make decisions this year. When UMHB struggled the first 28 minutes of the HSU game, Anderson was timid in his footwork and throws. This caused the offense to struggle. Jackson came in and ran the offense with more focus, sparking the first score for the Cru.  If the DB's are in coverage and the DE's are attacking, there should be some inside lanes, I hope, that they will spot and hit.

If we get into a rut of running up the middle and seem to have tunnel vision, it could be a long day for the Saders. We shall see. Safe playing for all out there!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I am still of the opinion that a team has to do this to beat Linfield. I think a team has to be able to pound the rock, wear down our D-line, and pick up decent yards on the ground; but no one has really done that so far.

This is a cliche answer, but I think this game comes down to turnovers.

For Linfield, especially if Knecht is starting, I think they need to get their ground game running and protect the ball. Payne has had his troubles holding on to the ball this season (also, rain!), and I am sure The MHB defense will be the most physical they face this year. I do think if the run game gets going, our QB(s) can have success in the play-action game. I know the MHB D-line is extremely good so I don't expect to be able to sit in the pocket all day long.

I think the Linfield DB's are as good as I have seen in D3, so it will be fun to see them compete against a great WR group from MHB. The luxury of having great DB's is you can afford to have more guys in run support. I think a strong tackling day, in the rain, will be crucial for the 'Cats. MHB's got speed at the QB and RB position so there will likely be a lot of one-on-one tackling opportunities against the read option.

I am excited to watch these two teams go at it for 60 minutes. And I honestly think this game is a coin-flip. Hoping for a 'Cats win but it could go either way.

Well Westside., you just threw home field advantage out the window.
This game is not a draw, this game is Ad LINFIELD.

Wildcat11 in is prognosis has articulated what I want to watch if the camera will give it to me. General Chaos will get more than 1-on-1 today so McGovern, Schwartz, Farber are going to have to have their best fighting days this year.

No injuries!

YES...if the MHB O-Line doubles the General...let's see how much time their QB has for his decisions!?

listening to the kids channel commentators on the Mountain Union game gives me a great appreciation for what we have at Linfield.  RIP in Bill and thanks for all your commitment and dedication!
