I heard that Hoff is questionable with a mild hangnail. Simmet just breathed a sigh of relief.

A tradition unrivaled...

Enough with the numbers for a week. This look at the past goes back to 110 years ago this fall: check the upper-righthand corner for a story on the Wildcats' preseason drills. It just goes to show that the college football facilities race goes back a long, long way.

Incidentally, Linfield - then known as McMinnville College - went 1-2 that 1905 season, then dropped football because President Leonard Riley convinced the board of trustees that the sport was too violent. The school resumed football in 1922; its comeback was revealed in the same convocation at which it was announced the college's name would be changed to Linfield.

Forget Hoff. What are Linfield's chances if the replacement QB gets knocked out of the game? Not that anyone would want this to happen, of course.

Better than St John's chances I'd say.

After seeing how well our back-up quarterback was able to play... do you really want to take the chance on unleashing our 3rd string QB?!

In light of how Tom Knecht acquitted himself last Saturday you'd probably be better off hoping we don't start the 21 other 'back-ups'  ;D

Linfield is the reincarnation of last year's OSU team.

My take on this game is pretty simple. I think LF team speed will prevail. I think LF will be able to stop run. LF by 7

I'll put this one next to some Wabash posters last week assuming UST's O was much better than their D. I'm not convinced Linfield is the faster team. Especially Cats O v. Tommie D. We'll find out soon!

HU's got a nice, newer facility, but they're akin to L&C.

More like UPS. L&C is not really all there right now as a program.

Did I just read that right?

Not sure what your point is -- I'm just being honest about where L&C is as a program, and I'm sure they would be too. Hamline is not a program that can't compete with anyone in its conference, is it? Comparing Hamline to L&C is just not really correct.

Blue, you're not really in a position to talk right now, I'm pretty sure.
