For anybody that wants to know, here is my preseason top 25 vote to D3football.com

Nice call---that fact that you put Claremont in there shows that you did your research (I had to look into them myself to figure out what you were thinking!).

Why so high on C-M-S? Returning a lot of production? Players coming back from injury? Transfer QB from UCLA?

M-Ca and HR,

Pat provides voters with great information (number of returners by position, notes, letterwinners, etc) and then I start slotting teams.  15-25 is much tougher than 1-15, IMO.

I went with CMS at 25 because I like them as my pre-season early favorite to win the SCIAC and they have a great opportunity to earn some good will with a 2nd game against Washington and Lee (who has been a lower top 25 type team).  The Stags do return 4 of 5 off line, their QB, both running backs, their tight end, and a great bulk of their defense including a great corner in Victor Bunce.

I do think the SCIAC will be wide open but I think CMS will have a shot to be hovering near the top 25 in early October...the rest is up to them.

Stags also return the best defensive linemen in the conference at a three tech, I think more impactful than their corner.. However, I think a healthy UR and CLU have much much more depth. It is nice to see them vastly improved but they still do not have great depth. On paper they could be many favorite, but ???? a lot different with a target on your back.
Less than two more years of Gavin.
