C'mon, Bearcats, Bruins, Loggers and Pirates - get us off to a good start.

As for Pacific, on the stat sheet it looks like the Boxers did everything but win. Ouch.

Whitworth and Central are tied at 21, halftime

I honestly expected the defense to be better after a few years of Sandberg. Unfortunately they aren't. They are the opposite of bend don't break. Maybe "don't budge then snap"? So far Central offensive series have gone something like this: sack, sack, 30 yd QB draw...and run for no gain, sack, 30 yd jump ball TD pass. Very frustrating to watch.

Whitworth's offense has looked good, just a few miscues that they should clean up in the second half and as the season goes forward. Kolste will need to win them this game I think.

I still think they are the second best team in the conference, and unfortunately probably a 20-30 pt dog to Linfield.

Kolste can't get it done. Could get one more shot. Central Ball at their own 27 yd line, tied 42-42, 2:49 left in the game.

Man, the Whitworth defense has been bad  :'(

thank goodness for crappy division 3 kickers

The defense didn't look very good. Brutal loss for Whitworth.

I poked fun at UPS having a run game coordinator this offseason and they go have a guy rush for 180 today (he had some nice burst). Might have been wrong about UPS but LaVerne isn't a very good football team this year.

I have to give a rare shout out to a non-Linfield guy--Aidan Santino (freshman for UPS) got play time in his first game as a freshman and scored a TD on 4 receptions---Aidan was part of my high school's historic season last year--nice to see him getting play time (and making the best of it) right away.  Hope he has a great season (except of course when he gets his first experience vs. the CATS).
Go Cats!

Willamette down to Rhodes 21-0.  :o what a stinker of an opening week for the NWC

Andy Jamison - Walla Walla Wildcat

Went to the Fox game... 3,124 in attendance... Paid or butts in seat? Good UWP crowd made the trip... Was impressed by GF going up against a top 15 team... They had way, way too many penalties... Still is odd to see Linfield East with all our guys coaching for them... NWC might be really competitive this season...

I see that Whitworth lost in OT when Central ran in a 2-pt conversion. Let me guess, Central tried for a kick, it went bad (kicker slipped?), but somehow they were still able to run it in for the score.

Still a classic game/win for the Dutch; remember listening online live as it happened. Doubt that it is archived by many LF fans, but it is one of those videos I still take a peak @ probably once a yr.

Any take on this weekend's Pacific - UD game?  Clearly the Spartans will be working on their defense this week.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Looks like a road trip may be in order for this Saturday... Linfield/Chapman at 12 pm and then your choice of Willamette/C of I @ 7pm or Pacific/Dubuque @ 6pm

Love this time of year!  ;D
