Although it was handled quickly, I want to take a moment and apologize for the rudeness during the injury to the Wildcat player.  My thoughts and prayers are with him for a speedy recovery.

I remember traveling to Wesley back in 08 or so, and after the game, the fans were extremely rude.  I know not all fans are that way, but it happens and leaves a sour taste in your mouth.  I'm always appreciative of the fans who make the trip to support their team and wish them all the best, win or lose.

I lived in Longview, WA, for 10 years.  I have loved my undergrad and graduate experiences at UMHB as well as all of the sporting events, but from what I see and hear about Linfield, if I had known about the school and hadn't felt the Lord's call to come back home to Texas, I would have loved to have gone to school there.  Great fans. Great class.  Till next time!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

No need to apologize, umhb2001. Every crowd is going to have someone who is an idiot. I was just impressed with how that UMHB administrator jumped on it and took care of business.  In two trips to Belton, I've been nothing but impressed with the people at UMHB.

Only been once (this past weekend) but I second 11's observations.  Was treated with nothing but respect and really found the facilities to be top notch (and I'm really just talking about the bathrooms---so many of them and all of them clean :) )

We had a similar event in the  student area (Which surprisingly many parents hang out) . as the game ended a freshman tried to jiggle his keys..  We all yelled for his to put em away, and one very large man told him "You wern't sweatin and pushin.. you have no right to talk"...we all applauded.. silly Freshman...We gotta teach em young...

Interesting discussion going in the comments section of the Top 25 Poll..... I have to admit I was a little surprised Linfield actually rose in the poll on a bye week. And after the menagerie at UMHB.

Menagerie?

Agreed---a bit of a surprise.  Then again, Wheaton deserved to drop after squeaking out a win against what is probably a middle of the road team for the 2nd week in a row.  I think after the top 5 or 6 an argument can be made for a number of teams in the 7-15 spots.  All said and done--doesn't matter.

Menagerie?

.... ya I was trying to put a nice label on it.
O.K.---so, a zoo?  I guess Catastrof#ck would not be a very "nice label"?    ::)

Regarding "Catastrof#ck":

Accurate can't always be nice.  :-\

Very MCat creative.

I don't know how I'd be handling life if I made several dozen family bargain deals and saved for months to fly to Texas, drive in the construction and dust, sit in the 90 + weather only to sit there with jaw dropped and head shaking.
And then have to reverse the trip.

I'm still glad I pulled the plug flying to Dover a couple years ago.

Ha--it was still worth the trip if nothing else for the BBQ, to see the CRUthedral, and to meet 509Rat!

You'd feel a lot like I did after flying to Minnesota to see the St. Thomas game last year. OK, it wasn't 90 degrees at the St. Thomas night game, but the feelings as the game devolved were likely very similar. In fact, and D O.C. will remember this, it felt a lot like the 52-8 blowout at Texas Luthern in the 1974 NAIA playoffs.

Still, our Cats always recover...as they have for the last 60 consecutive seasons. Always proud of our guys. Go Cats!
