Yeah, I would have the 'Cats at least a 2 TD favorite.  But I'm thinking UR would hang around for longer than it's comfortable.  Same thing with the UMHB/UR game.  They were much improved over previous Bulldog teams we had faced.  Hope they can build on it and finally get over the playoff win-less hump one of these days.  Just not against us.  ;D

Linfield by ~18 on a neutral field by my model. HFA is worth 3 points, so UR @ Linfield should be about three scores. Closer than the typical matchup has been over the years.

Redux...like the last 2 years (except when he was injured) when Riddle and Co. leave the game in the early 4th teams have done better than they did in the previous part of the game.

Yeah I saw the towel brigade as well... Really? paranoid much? so next year I am going to leak that we have helicopters hovering with high def cameras, perhaps they will cover the coach in a burka...

So where they now alluding to MHB and Linfield as being some sort of cheaters? Hate to break the illusion but.. every team uses signals (Unless they are the bulldogs then they use high pitched sound systems that only dogs can hear), and others watch, but also watch the lineup...so signals...Meh....Common guys I thought you were bigger than that

Oh and by the way, there are cameras...they are filming the game. As does Linfield, they create kick A$$ videos...

Maybe they really weren't towels, but flags?

Were they being held up or were they being waved?

Well, 2016 is over.   A successful year, but of course also disappointing.  Now, what about next year?

Linfield always reloads.    We lose a great QB, two running backs and a flock of good receivers.   Our O and D lines look good.   Running back looks good to be our starter.    But, we have two talented, rather inexperienced QBs.    Similar with the new receivers.

The rest of the NWC conference appears to be no worse than this year and probably better.    Could be a challenge to The Wildcats.

And we have to be a heavy underdog to MHB, even here.   We will have to learn fast.

Any thoughts from anyone?

George

I agree with everything you just said (which, let's face it, is rarely the case).  MHB will be replacing a lot of their top guys as well (QB, DE, at least one RB and at least one WR, several linebackers, Baylor Mullins, and at least a couple of linemen.) but they will have a ton of talent--probably will come down to which teams new QB can perform best.

This is precisely how I feel.  Our #1 backup this year is true freshman Kyle Jones (who has barely seen the field).  We've yet to really see his true potential.  We also have Sophomore Zane Boles on the team, but he has not seen any action at QB this season.  He was spending some time at TE early on and since then has also contributed with punting.  With Baylor Mullins graduating, Zane will probably see more time in that area.  It remains to be seen if he will ever get back on the field at QB or TE, though.

There's no doubt we lose a great talent in Blake Jackson - much like the 'Cats with Sam Riddle.  It will definitely add a bit of an unknown spin to next year's game.

Also, in reply to George, I don't really think the 'Cats will be big underdogs to the Cru.  As MonroviaCat said, we lose some big-time guys as well.  In addition to Blake, we also lose Baylor Mullins (who seems to contribute pretty much everywhere on the field...), Teidrick Smith (one of the best DE's in d3fb the past couple years), Broderick Jenkins (OL), Wykeyhe Walker (Cru record-holding WR), Keith Reineke (LB), Matt Cody (LB), and Connolly Fuller (OL).  Just to name a few of the biggest contributors.  We do return both of our solid RBs, though.  Both teams will have some big shoes to fill, but the way both seem to reload I don't think it will be a problem.

Looking forward to my first trip to the Catdome.

Nope - the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers, or "Mounties" - they're playing in the NAIA semifinals at Baker, Kansas. If Baker sounds familiar, it's because that's who Linfield beat to win the 1986 NAIA Division II national title.

I'm rooting for Mary Hardin-Baylor to win it in DIII, but I'd also enjoy seeing another Oregon school playing for a small-college title.
