Interesting pick - one I didn't see coming:

I'm a huge fan of Garry and thrilled they picked a Linfield lifer for the job. Garry has boundless energy, he's tough as nails, smart, respected, creative, and willing to implement change that I think will be a positive for the entire athletic department.  IMO, this was a huge win for Linfield athletics.

I concur wholeheartedly. His just wasn't a name I'd heard associated with the position. I'm eager to see his vision for the department.

Congrats to Garry--I ran track a year or two for him and he should be great in this position!
Go Cats!

Then you should respect the two r.
Garry.  ;D

WC11 is just happy because Garry is a huge proponent of flying drones over all athletic events.
I just made that up.
Congratulations the College on a bloodless coup.

Holy cow this is crazy.  PLU athletic department will not show any clothing or athletic gear with the slogan of EMAL on it. As most folks know EMAL means: Every Man A Lute and is unifying slogan developed by Frosty.  Since it as the term "man" in it, the argument is that this is designed to exclude people.  An alternative thrown aroun is EPAL "Every Player A Lute".

Give this article a read but the clincher for me was the PLU's AD quote of: "Perhaps [EMAL] is not unifying in the same way anymore. [Inclusivity] is an ongoing education and challenge,"

Frosty would be spinning in his grave.

Yeah, it's going to be a good one.  Obviously, there is still lots that could happen but if things fall into place it could be an exceptional Linfield recruiting class.  I do know if you're a strong WR/DB this is the year to come to Linfield with as much as Linfield graduated at those spots.
