Ahem.

What are we doing here? Insulting each other? I ought to strike this whole page from the board. RFB -- you didn't used to post like this and I'm not sure why you've started to do so. Perhaps you could stop.
While we're at it, can we please point out that the attractiveness of a girl (or guy for that matter) or their ability to be elected homecoming queen has nothing to do with how well they play football.  I understand what Yipsi was going for when sharing this story but I think he undermined his point by then saying the young lady is "REALLY attractive" in defense of her being elected home coming queen.  Why are a couple of middle-aged (and older) men discussing the attractiveness of a teenage girl on a website about college football anyway?

That last sentence is the final word. Let us never speak of this again. I feel gross.

Lutes tomorrow! Hopefully we see a cohesive offense and the salty d comes to shut down the lutes. Two years ago was a tight one, but the weather was crap, on the kind side. I'll be at the alumni bbq with my dad, reminiscing about our favorite lute games.

Mine? Both tilts from 1992, the defeat of the defending champs at sparks in 2000, and I'll never forget the loss in 1998 at sparks. I'm sure 11 remembers that one...

While I hold out hope for a good game, or even a mighty upset, I suspect this is all just the normal Linfield fans being humble. I appreciate that but I suspect the game won't be that close. Not that I've had much time to pay attention to the games this year.

My favorite one would likely be 1980 Quarterfinal (even though as a redshirt I sat in the stands) that propelled us to the National Championship. A rematch of the regular season game we had lost, by one in McMinnville.

Played half of the game with a concussion (not bragging). Took a knee in the helmet from their big RB, Hicks and was seeing stars for a good portion of the 3rd quarter.

That was a tough game, we had a hell of a defense that year but the offense struggled against the Lutes.  The 1998 Lutes team was really good and the precursor to their '99 National Title team.

Looking back at the season records, the entire 90s was a tough time for the 'Cats against the Lutes. We only beat them 3 out of the 12 times we faced off that decade. It's been a different story, obviously, from 2000 on.

The '98 D was incredible. Only gave up 20 or more once (23 to Redlands) and held almost half the opponents to 7 or less. And this was back when some of the teams were better than they are now.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

14 of those 23 to the Dawgs were on two TD's the Linfield offense gave up on pick sixes. It was a great defensive group.

I'm glad you got to play in the best WC D3 stadium. It's okay to admit it, KittyCat nation will nod with you in agreement.

What you experienced was haze, hold on "cough, cough". Yes, haze, that's what I'm going with, but can't seem to kick this cough 20 years later.

Great game at Sparks,Wyatt is the real deal. If the Cats don't give him the team the rest of the year, ya wonder.

ya wonder how political people will view the move.

Why would they?  Smith can make all the throws we need in the offense and that hasn't happened the previous games. He has a big upside so why not go with him now and start letting him cut his teeth.  His ability to throw instantly started opening up more running lanes.  Bigger issue is the health of our O-Line which is terrible right now. Should get Heck back next week which will be a big help.
