Hey guys, there's always basketball season!

Then we also had a very tough region, Willamette, Southern Oregon, Central Washington, Western Oregon, Western Washington all had tough, tough programs.    Even Oregon Tech (Klamath Falls) beat us two years in a row, not long after our 1986 National Title.    The conference and region was so tough then.

Are you talking about Joe Cain and Nate Lewis OIT teams?  I had Joe Cain sign my little league hat at a Klamath Falls Falcons (American Legion) baseball game.  Was damn near the coolest thing that had ever happened to 10-year old me.

Joe CAIN!  I went to OIT's football camp when I was headed into my frosh year of high school (1990) and met Joe.  Nice guy and OIT put on a heck of a good football camp.

Wally... What were you doing in K. Falls?
I did 10 years there!

That just makes you an honorary member of the NWC board then!  Where you a Klamath Union, Mazama, or Henley High grad?

Did you ever go fishing on the wood river? Fort Klamath? Now that's a small town.

Some fishing on the Wood River way back in the day.  Most of the fishing that I did with my old man was either on Upper Klamath Lake or Lake of the Woods.  Later on I got into fly fishing and spent a lot of time on the Sprague and Chewaucan Rivers.  Almost ashamed to admit that I didn't appreciate that country properly until after I moved away and surrounded myself with cornfields.  I'm definitely way overdue to get back during a summer and spend some time on the streams again.

I think the smallest of the small towns that I've been to in Oregon is Wagontire.  Population 2 (for real) when we went through there in the mid-90s!

WOW!   I opened Pandora's Box  mentioning about OIT beating Linfield twice in row 30 years ago --- lots of commentary about Klamath Falls.   I lived in Grants Pass for 16 years and loved beating Klamath in football almost every year.

All this talk about Klamath Falls and Grants Pass. Well, I've never been to Oregon. So there. Besides, when I lived in California, there were signs on the California/Oregon border stating  that Californians were not welcome in Oregon. (That's a true story). We weren't all hippies. OK! Some of us had longer hair, smoked funny cigarettes, drove a van with a mural on the side and listened to Steely Dan. Still!
I, myself, was more of an establishment type. 3 piece suit, Silicon Valley exec, collected Perry Como records. Ah, the good old days. Hated 'em! Just some ramblings by an old guy (see below).

Wally... I lived out past Mazama H.S. on Laverne St.
I am of the Keck, Brosterhaus, Platske era.
George doesn't want to remember that though, I'm sure.

Very nice.  I was a South Suburbanite myself.  Just down the road a bit on Sturdivant Ave.   :)
