Yes, it is strange and shocking that Linfield is out.

Strange year all around in the West.
- No Linfield
- No second (or third) WIAC team
- No UST  ;D

Shoot, there were years when it looked like there were 3 legit 1 seed possibilities from the West.

So here is my scenario question...

IF Martin Luther beats St Johns, would my Pirates host a 2nd round assuming higher seed hosts?

Thanks Pat, I figured so but I could use some humor on a Monday morning.  Go Bucs !

So what are the chances of ML beating STJ?

Beating STJ?  The chance is excellent.

Beating SJU?  That chance is zero.

Put the money down on getting out to MN.  It's a bucket list location for any D3 fan and would be worth it.

Whitworth needs to get by CMS first...though after watching a few Stags games I have no earthly idea how they score enough points to keep up with Whitworth. Their defense has been inconsistent despite ending the season as the SCIAC leader in YPG and PPG allowed. They didn't let the other SCIAC contenders (Redlands and Chapman) score many points, but then lost to PP and gave up 21 and 24 to Whittier and La Verne.

Teams have not ran well on Whitworth's defense this year which doesn't bode well for CMS. Whitworth is only allowing 1.9 yards per rush. CMS will do better than that (partly because Whitworth had 34 sacks on the season for -199 yards so all by itself the yards/rush stat is deceiving), but they will have to be able to run the ball at will to win this one. And if Whitworth does what they have managed to do in most of their games this year and race out to an early lead in the 1st and 2nd quarter, how does CMS get back in it?

CMS probably needs 33-34 min TOP (though that stat doesn't mean much against Whitworth), close to 200 yards rushing and a +3 turnover differential to win this game. If they can't do all three of those things I think Whitworth wins pretty easily.

I dunno, 11, the chatter is pretty confident over on the UMAC board.

Just want to shout out Wyatt Smith's play over the last 6 weeks.  After starting off a rough 2018, Smith finished his last six games going 111 for 168 (66%) for an avg of 254.5 yards and throwing 14 TD's to 3 picks.

Absolutely right.    It sure a difference.

WC11, it was nice seeing you receive that well deserved honor.    I remember your playing 20 years ago!    A tough hombre!!   Congrats!!

Apparently I cannot abbreviate very well, but that part isn't important anyway to some.

Unfortunately, that weekend is my 20th anniversary.  I guarantee Mrs Pirate will not find MN very romantic.

Hey DOC.

Third generation Pirate so follow all of their sports religiously.

I am here daily, post rarely.  I usually live on the basketball board.

I can think of lots of places.

We travel enough with the basketball team that she probably wouldn't go for a football road trip in the budget.
