I want to, but I can't afford to get away more than twice during playoffs.

You won't have to worry about any additional games.  :o

I'll be there. Driving up from Minnetonka that morning.
I'll need all the help I can get. :)

Maybe, maybe not.    SJU is the definite favorite.

Totally agree Linfield should get two home games, but it's clear the only way they'll get that is to beat UMHB or one of the top dogs in the Midwest early in the season. You can't keep beating up on one of the worst performing conferences in the nation (SCIAC) and non-d3 teams in your nonconference games, beat up on your conference foes (who also haven't beat anyone good) and expect to get a top seed, your SOS is just too weak (also gives you 0% chance at a non-auto bid).

I'm sure there's some strategy to not playing the teams you'll face later in the playoffs (I'm also pretty sure none of the Midwest dogs would come out to the catdome for a nonconference game, so a home and home is probably out of the question), but it would be great to see a true early season test for the 'Cats (and for whitworth, if both could win they would potentially have a chance at putting two teams in the tournament). I'm not sure how much more expensive it is to fly down to LA than Minneapolis or Milwaukie, but assume that also factors in quite a bit.

A note to George Thompson . .

The Island is real and not likely to change with the present system.

The darn biased selection committee totally favors the Midwest and North regions on home games.    It is a VERY unfair system.   Any top 8 team in D3 poll should have two home games, automatically.     Besides that, all home games should be a simple coin toss the Sunday beforehand.

Also considering the last playoff performance is part of the criteria for unbeaten teams, continuing to win this year will make things better next time around.

SJU had a game or possibly a home/home scheduled with Whitworth, but COVID had other plans.  I'm guessing a Linfield/SJU series could happen at some point, but SJU has a home/home with Whitewater for 2022/2023.
