Not sure if we have a new offensive coordinator?..... with the receivers we have seems like we could pass 9 out of 10 times and the halfbacks can catch passes also ... then run...... 

No the OC's are the same.  Redlands pretty much played a 3 deep zone the whole game because they were afraid the deep ball.  'Cats just took what was there.  Left some points on the field but it was efficient, especially when the defense was smothering.

Been a great start to the season with a tough road win and then a convincing defensive performance against Redlands.  The o-line definitely is a work in progress which is a bit of a surprise although they do have a new coach.  Hopefully they can get things figured out. 

I'm not a fan of the deep pass on 1st and 10 and was happy to see a lack of that against Redlands.  We took too many shots against Huntingdon and that puts you in a 2nd and long to often.  Then when we ran on 2nd and went nowhere, we were at 3rd and long.  I'd much rather see back shoulder deep passes than the over the top as they are much easier to complete.

GustyJ is a George Fox supporter, he posts occasionally. As for myself, what does this old Lute have to say when we haven't had a winning season in 6 years. Can't exactly talk trash. I can't even reasonably pick my team to finish second in the conference anymore. But I'm out here, lurking.

George Fox supporter and alumnus; kind of funny that I ended up there considering my dad is in the Linfield Sports Hall of Fame on his own and also as part of the 1966 national championship baseball team.

On another note, I noticed this week in the West Region Fan Poll that someone voted the Bruins 3rd in the region. Now I'm thrilled with the start of the season, but that means somebody put us higher than either Linfield or Whitewater, and that's just not rational right now. Let's maybe pump the brakes just a bit.

I'm still lurking too, but yeah ... just not a lot for me to post about on the Northwest Conference board when my team hasn't won a Northwest Conference game since 2016.  The wins over La Verne and Hilbert were fun--getting boat raced at home by Pomona-Pitzer, not so much.

I truly miss the GREAT rivalry with PLU in the 80s and 90s.  Those were great games!    It would be nice if PLU can resurrect the program.
