Obviously you don't want personal fouls, but I think they're coming from a good place. Linfield has only lost six conference games (or something like that) this century. These guys grind and you have to find a way to keep grinding when the competition you face (not the internal battles in practice) doesn't hold up game after game, year after year. They're looking for any reason to get a chip on their shoulders and personal fouls come with that territory.
These guys want to be better and want to compete at the highest level. If the game's result isn't going to be in question, finding some head to head battle is a way to have some sense of competition, shoot, you might have to egg a guy on (and get a personal foul) to keep him going.

So, if I'm reading this right, your thought is that because the competition doesn't "hold up game after game, year after year" football gets boring so you need to keep your edge by roughing those slackers up a bit?

Shout out to Luke Balash, PLU alum from '99, taking the Lathrop Malemutes to their second straight Alaska Division 2 football championship.

No kidding? That's awesome! Luke was a housemate for a semester or two and a really great guy.

Since losing to CLU, PLU has been rolling.  Impressive.

They are looking better - but this weekend will be tough.
