DenSLA,

I'd have to see that one again to be able to confirm. Sounds like you had a better view of it, so you're probably right. However, I'd still say that the Warhawk player must have been doing something right to be in position to scoop it rather than letting a Linfield guy (or Elliott) recover.

The pick that the linebacker ran back was right in front of me in the north endzone. Pressure all over Elliott, arm was hit as he threw, nice change of direction by the 'backer to get in the zone and not leave it up to the offense. Direct result of pressure up front. Overall, I felt that they were just a bit more scrappy and 'earned' most of the breaks that they got. Another example: passes batted down at the LOS. More evidence of a team doing the little things it takes to win a tight battle. Just an opinion from a neutral observer.

I don't presume... like you all did in describing what Linfield would do to WW.

A couple of things...

#1  As everyone else at Saturday's game has said, the game was the most exciting game from start to finish that I have ever witnessed.  The major reason being #1 vs #2 with a national championship possibly going to the winner.

#2  I had heard some troubling talk prior to the game about the Linfield fans. I was on the field during the game and I thought they were great!  Their emotions switching with every lead change.  There was only a couple of times that inappropriate statements came from a fan, something that happens with every teams fans in every game.  I must admit that the CatDome is a very intimidating place for a visiting team.

#3  I had the opportunity to talk to a couple of parents of Linfield players after the game.  The conversation I remember most was with Casey Allens dad.  When I first started talking with him I actually thought he was a Whitewater fan due to his purple clothes.  He had nothing but compliments for the Warhawks although his voice let me know that he was bitterly disappointed for the team's loss and the end of his son's career.  He was a very classy man.

#4 And finally to wildcatinwi, you had indicated several times that if Linfield lost to WW, you would be in attendance at this week's national semifinal at Perkins Stadium.  Make sure you are wearing Linfield apparel, I will be looking for you.

I think you have me lumped with the wrong fans, Ohio Troll, but that's no big deal. What exactly are you trying to catch with all this lame bait?

OU#25...welcome to the NWC board. Not too many OAC's stray over here.
If you are trying to throw salt in the wounds, the WILDCAT NATION does not deserve it.

Excuse me I should have said "Most" not "All"  my apologies to anyone I offended.

The word "some" would indicate less than half.  That is not true.  If I did not have a real job I would be happy to pull all the "phone it in" "Stagg party" blah blah blah that the rest of the country has been listening to even before the season started.

Treat other regions and programs with respect and you'll get some yourself.

As Woody Hayes said..."Act like you've been there before".

...and then that great stalwart of Ohio hogtied a player from the other team during the game!

Please use another example of the fortitude we lack.

OU#25,

As a sign of how much we truly do respect other regions and teams, I'd like to send you a token Christmas gift. Please let me know where to address the following:

Nice job again atc.

I will post on the WIAC board because someone asked earlier about photos.
You know, they're kind of hard to look at, emotionally that is.

Well the dream is finally over in Wildcat land.  I have to say I truly respect what kind of run Linfield went on over the last 2 years, very impressive.  It sounds like UWW was just a special team this year.  Believe me I know playoff losses suck :'(  but great season Cats.

Christmas wish: a Wildcat/Cobber rematch next year in Moorhead at the "Jake"
RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

BUT! the first 3 photos show the d3 crew who could not make it out west what kind of a game it was!

1900 season/200 game Beaver is accelerating into one of those Wisconsin barn door holes and Brandon Olson has one arm around his waist and his head on the wrong side but in the frame 2 Olson has planted a heel in the turf that desertcat1 will be proud of and frame three he is pulling that calf backwards outa the hole.

Too bad all I see in my dreams is Beaver scampering into the southeast corner of the end zone for the winning touchdown.
Great call by the WW staff.

Great call by the WW staff.

I thought their staff called an excellent game in terms of getting Beaver the ball with room to operate. Plus the use of the TE (especially that screen pass in the red zone) was very impressive and their receivers made some awesome catches going up for the ball. Those guys are going to be hard to beat.

Don't let up Whitewater. Make the West Region proud.

Foss

Well, I don't know how I did it but I managed to painfully listen to the postgame show on the UWW website. I just needed some kind of closure (which I found out won't come for a long time).

Some items of interest:

Their coach called this game the greatest one he had ever seen.

One of the announcers said it had to be one of the greatest he had seen at any level.

The announcers and coach were very classy in victory and complementary of Linfield and Coach Locey. One of the announcers commented on the enthusiasm of the Linfield stadium and sent a plea out to all the Warhawk listeners to do the same by coming out in full force for their game against Wesley, regardless of how cold it might be in Wisconsin this time of year.

And the one that hurt the most: The color commentator said he thought how hard it would be to lose a great game like this because of all the what-iffing and thinking about how if one play had gone differently you probably would have won. He said he was so glad he didn't have to go through that.

I wish we didn't, either.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

I know what you mean....the only reason they are so late being posted is because I couldn't bring myself to sit down and edit them until today....
