RedandPurple, looks like we saw the same thing.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Gee, guys, nice posts. What an admirable kid, and mature beyond his years, besides being just a decent person. Compare him to some of the pro players who are making millions.

I agree, Foss, that Coach Gagliardi is probably proud that such a fine young man has won the award named after him.

We saw Brett and his family having dinner at the Brew Pub after one of the games. They were a large group, as he has several siblings, and they were having a great time. Those are some parents who have done a good job, and I bet the schools loved them.

QuoteSince most of the O line returns,

Which reminds me,  I have not lauded those guys. They did their job tremendously....or no G trophy, logically.
How many sacks? WOW.

They went beyond Tremendously. The line deserves more credit then what they get.

Amen to that also!
In all my years of watching football I have never seen a QB or a running back block for himself. The Linfield o-line does an outstanding job.

GO 'CATS!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Hi Guys,
Thought I would wonder over here and say hi to you all, I actually miss many of you, especially Foss, Wildcat11, Coco, DHC  and company.  Everyones karma has sure taken an upswing, I see!!!   ;) ;) ;) The MCU guys aren't as much fun and can be down right nasty at times.  Congrats to Elliot on the Gagliardi Trophy.  I was blessed to see his talent first hand and he won a life long fan!!  Good luck to him when he heads out to tear up the NFL!

D O.C.

Let me restate an earlier post...

Do ANY of you Northwest sports fans know of one person who is going to be at the Division III Championship game in person?

Yeah yeah yeah , the Elliott family.
No, really.

coco

Thanks, footballfan413. I think several of us visit your board frequently.  You have a heck of a team, and we wish you the best.  We enjoyed meeting some of the tailgaters at the game out here.
I'm glad to see the team arrived safely.
No injuries.

DenS,

I seem to remember one of the posters saying a while ago that he'd bought his ticket to Salem, but I don't recall who it was. Not sure if the guy was serious.

Question for everybody. Is it time to move the Stagg Bowl to another location? Look at the frontpage, the stadium is under snow right now. I am all about tradition but shouldn't the game be played in better weather? Southern California would be an ideal location, the weather is perfect. Opinions?

Foss

footballfan413, thanks. I second what coco said.

RFB, Even though it's a long ways for any west coast team, I personally really liked the stadium (it was kind of bowl shaped, you seemed close to the field, and had a great view from anywhere) and atmosphere in Salem, VA. I think I read there were 3-4 thousand fans at the Stagg last year, and imagine no more than 600-700 (maybe I'm wrong) could have been from Linfield and UMHB, considering how far away it is. So that must mean that a large percentage were from the Salem, VA area and came out to support DIII football, which is awesome. If they were ever to change the location, it would have to be in an area that could guarantee equal support. Now, I have to admit the weather was great last year so that probably helped. I can see where attendance might be hurt and the experience a little less enjoyable for some if the weather is poor, but maybe the people out there still tough it out. At any rate, personally I thought the venue was great.

RFB, you beat me to it............I understand that Salem does a great job of hosting the Stagg Bowl and the Basketball Championships, But it's Dec. Let them keep the Basketball games but move the Football to a warm spot! I know that Football is played in any weather but a game played on a dry field is fair for both sides!(pls.... I understand it can rain anywhere anytime)You Don't see any Bowls played in Alaska! This as always is.....IMHO ;D
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

RFB

Foss,

Good point about about the Stagg being played in a location that would support it. I am sure that there are other cities in warmer areas that could be just as supportive. The Stagg Bowl should be played in the most ideal conditions.

It's a tarp with about an inch of snow on it.  Let's don't panic here.  Southern California has almost everything.  Leave me my Stagg Bowl!!

Pdawg----THanks for that info. I just might have to schedule a trip out there. Do you know if there is a website to see who is going to this Vegas bowl.

Olinemom, Please don't sling brownies at me but, They had a tarp on the field at UWW last week too. It can turn the field into a mud bowl as it did there. Hope all goes well and we have a great game. It's nice we don't have to get up as early this year!
