Wildcat11...that just blew my mind! I remember it well being down on the field at the time having some fun conversation with the Fee Fi Fo Fumble dude from Willamette. WoW...that was awesome!!!!Keep us fed with cool clips like that! That was like Joust on steroids or something....!

D O.C.

How'd you like the d3.com staff job of picking the pre-season All-America running back next summer?

Linfield and WWW are clearly the best 2 teams in the Nation?  RIGHT!

...and I thought Mount Union fans act like they've been there before?

All of the "holier than thou...we've been there before, so we know how to act" stuff was getting old leading up to the game and now it's even worse.

OK OK, we get it, you've been there nine times and you're quick to remind everybody that.  You've got a GREAT program, it's obvious.  I don't really mind all the trash talk on here but it's even worse when you preach and preach and preach about class and acting like you've been there before and then come back and act like a donkey. It makes you worse than the donkeys that are normally on here, it makes you a hypocrite donkey!  By the way don't you have something better to do than pour through pages and pages of post patterns...like celebrate?

One time getting it right doesn't make up for three years of wandering in the wilderness. Gonna take a lot more than that before people take this award seriously.

Sounds to me like you all just slapped these palyers in the face.
Ask them and thier families if they consider themselves not to be a "... worthy recipient" or a bunch "...no names".

1993:Jim Ballard -Mount Union; 1994: Carey Bender-Coe; 1995: Craig Kusick-Wisconsin-La Crosse
1996:Bill Borchert-Mount Union; 1997:- Bill Borchert- Mount Union; 1998:Mike Burton-Trinity (TX)
1999:Scott Pingel-Westminster (MO); 2000: R.J. Bowers-Grove City; 2001:Chuck Moore-Mount Union
2002: Daniel Pincelli-Hartwick; 2003: Brett Trichilo-Wilkes; 2004: Brett Trichilo-Wilkes

I suppose if you or the players and their families can't count to three then anyone from 1993-2001 could have a beef. If the Wilkes-Barre Touchdown Club can't manage to get the choice right -- or even make a reasonable choice -- I am not going to mince words over the past three years, sorry.

hscoach....to answer your dumb question....no, only Linfield is the best.  :-*

In looking at the Aztec Bowl stats, I noticed that Allen had 2 passes come his way, incomplete, penalties on both.
Plenty penalties in that game.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Thanks for pointing out that gem. ::)

I think it's safe to say that nobody has claimed that since Saturday at about 4:30 PM.  While I don't doubt that the naysayers were annoying to you,  that was their (my) opinion at the time.  All I'm saying as annoying as the naysayers may have been to you, YOU do a disservice to all the Mount fans that all week long were preaching about what a classy bunch of fans they have and how seasoned they are since they've been there eight prior times.

YOU are the only slap dick that is trolling through the archives trying to "roast" everybody for their predictions.  Most people have since congratulated your team and acknowledged their accomplishment this season.  You guys are the national champions, get over all the things that were said prior.  Those people probably feel small enough without your help, go drink some champagne...

Mr. Ypsi

dt48,

Good post!

hscoach,

I'm grateful to you for running the OAC pickems (even if I did plunge yesterday!), but you ARE making Mount fans look bad.  Pre-game picks (even including such silly stuff as the WW-Linfield game being the REAL Stagg Bowl) are hyperbole, chest-pounding, trash-talking, take your pick - but they are PRE-game.  AFTER the game (as the cliche goes), act like you've been there before (especially since you have)!

As an IWU fan, I'm jealous - our once-proud fb tradition is sinking rapidly into the toilet.  But if our bb team wins the title this year (as I expect), I hope I will handle it with more grace. ;)

.....looks like hscoach removed his last post that several people had responded to....maybe he came to his senses and figured out that Linfield is still #1 in our book!

Wow, that could be the weakest thing I've seen on this board yet.  HS Coach posts up some smack that makes himself look like a donkey and instead of owning up to a bad take he just rips it off the board?

Some Linfield fans (myself included) may write stuff that comes back to bite us in the ass but at least we won't try to hide from it.

Perhaps the vaunted MUC program would care to be real tough and volunteer to go to the West bracket NEXT year. All home games when they earn them, of course.

Can't wait to see the Nate Kmic Story starring Giovanni Ribisi!

Yah....obviously they have MUCH to prove.   ::)

On smack in general and parity in particular:

Points well taken about some posters calling others out for misconceptions, wrong views, and smack about teams prior to games.  We all do it to some extent.  The difference is the extreme way some do it.  Maybe some exaggerate to make a stronger point.  The only problem is it can come back and kick us in the arse when we do it.
The best thing about the current state of affairs in D3 is how much more level the playing field is becoming.  I guess parity is the word here.  On any given day, a lot more teams in D3 can challenge the best teams for a victory.  As Martha Stewart would say,
"That's a good thing."
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
I hope none of us get the shakes too bad with another D3 football season now behind us.  :'(
