Thanks for sharring the letter from Abby with us. Sounds like the next big hurdle is the Athletic Dept. I always felt that they were more than welcome but would have to sit in the bleachers.

Swede....I actually take the smites as a badge of honor, depending on the issue...including the band (or lack of it).  It is an "agree with me or else type" thing....and if the reality that I bring to the situation isn't appreciated......well, I am an accountant, not a therapist   

Good to see you guys at least discussing putting your money where your mouths are regarding the band.   It the only way it is going to get done.    It beats the heck out of all the squawking that has dominated the board.   At least it was nice to read that Pat Coleman was amused by the whole thing like I was.

Excellent post. A litle communication goes a long way. Understanding why there was no pep band this past football season helps in showing what steps are to be taken to have one this fall.

Didn't you mention a revanue loss of $2400.00 if the pep band was put back in the stands, How'd you come up with that figure? Your an accoutant so what's the real revanue lost per game and season.

Thanks for sharing Abby's note with us.  Could you find out how many estimated $$$ Abby needs for the music liars and I guess some sheet music?  It doesn't sound like it is a very large dollar item.

Perhaps you could post the amount she thinks she needs to do it First Class.  Seems like she might need a few $$ also for Purple or Cardinal Catdome Shirts plus Purple Rain Slickers if they are going to be in the student section.
We probably need to make certain they have adequate dollars to do it right.

I have said all along I will put my money where my mouth is....and will contribute to the fund.  If we could kind of get a budget amount then we would know how much we need to raise to do it in  a manner that the Catdome deserves.

Somehow in this planning we also need to strategize as to how to get more than 10 band members.  To do it right, 10 won't  won't make the Catdome Rock!

Hello everyone
I figured since everyone is talking about pep band at Linfield, The student director should also be on this forum.
To answer some of your questions:
new music is about 50-70 dollars a chart
liars are 10-25 each depending on the instrument
I dont know how to get more than 10 players, hopefully some of you forum guys might want to play =)

Okay all you band lovers out there in catland. I think it was #64 who notified Bladine at the News Register. Bluenote, you got in contact with Ammy Quick so consider this.

Ammy said in her letter she needed more musicians among other things. Why not have the News-Register do a human interest story in the Tempo section of the paper. There could be a picture of Ammy and Bluenote doing a scavenger hunt in the old music building.

WHAT??!!!  Willamette is NOT the last game of the season??? That is always such a CRUCIAL game and we've bumped it back to September 30th and replaced it with L&C??

Ugh! Man, that takes all the drama out of the final game.

I realize that the L&C switch was probably necessary in case they can't get their program running but still.  That just hurts.
