Beancounter...I didn't know they used Game Ops Commander up there on the board.  That's what we used when I worked for the hockey team.  It's a pretty powerful program.  Who runs it up there?  It's a bit different I guess when it was my job, but they don't use half of it's capabilities.

Are there any plans to get the sound linked up to the scoreboard?  They could do so much with that board if it had the sound linked up.  I'm actually surprised that the COMM dept. doesn't have a video production class that produces "bits" for the board all season.  We used to interview the players and have them review a movie, or ask them what their favorite food, song, color etc. is...The players would eat that up and I'm sure they could get them to film that type of stuff a lot easier than I could get pros to do it!

Very sad.... unless I missed something, The Vegas bowl is not on T.V. Guess we have to wait for the Hula Bowl to see Brett.
I hope Brett has a great day!

Beancounter, Thanks for your input, It gives me even more energy to make it happen! this is something I feel very strong about.8 months and we will have the answer! ;D

GO WILDCATS!    BRING BACK THE BAND!
Tuxguy,
Make sure to make it at the meeting about the band. :)
Coco
If we had more positive people like you the band issue would be a done deal and we'd be talking football.

I see where your comming from. There needs to be a better number and more of a commitment by band member if this is too succeed and I feel confident it will providing the AD works with the pep band and not against it. I think It's pretty obvious they just don't want the pep band in the catdome regardless of where they sit.
Bluenote- If anybody can help Abby out its you and Tuxguy.
Lets remember besides Abby, Pdawg may be of great help.

Pdawg-like you I'd have to pick Football the #1 priority. And like you I don't see why the college can't have a good pep band perform at the games.

Beancounter,
Sorry, but I feel the pep band is part of the entire football experience, Just like having cheerleaders is.

I saw the fumble by BE :'( on the slide show. I'm mum though till I see his stats.

Are you sure you want to trust a write-up that says BE transferred FROM Linfield to Utah?! ;)

Good point! Either way Brett is still the man! Too bad the Wildcat o-line wasn't there to block for him.

That's what he is. He's a Utah transfer who is in the game from Division III Linfield.

Tux...what did Carney do that giveS you that opinion about his feelings on the band?  Other than taking their seats to sell them...I haven't talked to him in a long time, just wondering what he did to make you think he just doesn't want them period.

I'm a little split on this issue because for every ex-player you have that think it's a big deal, I know just as many that could care less.  As far as the band needing cover because of their instruments...I've been to plenty of UW games in Seattle and their band sits mid-field in the elements.  I also understand that you have to crawl before you walk but I don't think that should be at the expense of selling covered season tickets.  I agree that it would add to the atmosphere but I really think it needs to be done well otherwise it's really corny and cheesy, but I guess that goes back to the crawl before you walk statement.  I guess this makes me a first class WAFFLER!!  :D

When I talked to carny this year, he was quite cold and wouldnt work with me. He told me the reasons he sold our seats were because they needed the seats (aka money), and we "were inconsistant" aka suck. This is why I feel that he doesnt really want us there. The basketball people have been much more receptive to us playing. Next year, even if we get our seats back, I will continue to play for them. The reason I want to play at football so much is, I think I will get better participation at football than basketball games. Also its not college football without a band.  ;)

You may be accusing tuxguy for something he never said. (thanks Tuxguy, I'll buy you a drink at the elks next year at playoff time) :D  I can understand taking the seats for financial reasons, I'd probably have done the same but also let Abby know the pep band is welcome and work out something to get 'em back in.  Perhaps the band wouldn't be any better but then again it could be one that the old boys in the band would be proud of.  Abby just want's the chance and I say work something out. :)

It's on again, this time bigger and better than before.
Please feel free to attend the SUPER BOWL XL party at Coast Hills Church on Sunday February 5th at both the 9:30 and 11:00 service for a great time. There will be prizes, hot dogs, sideline reporting, cheerleaders. Hear Jay Locey and H.D. Weddel give the message. Remember to wear your favorite teams gear and bring your freinds along. 8)

I went to the 11:00 A.M. service today and was really impressed with all the college students who attended.
