Dens -

as much as I wish you were right - there is a team called the Modesto Nuts -

California League, A level Baseball, North Division

I don't know about Doug Larson, but their hitting coach is former big leaguer Glenallen Hill!

Any word how spring practices have gone for the Cats?
Are the young "kittin's" up to the task of replacing those 'ol experienced Cats of '05?

It's time to reload for '06!

Scott Biglin signed a contract with the Tri-Cities Fever. Will this mean that are friend AB or whatever he calls himself these days will grace our board once again?  ;D I see where Frank Borba is quarterbacking Wyoming of the NIFL.

cawcdad

I get to pick up the paper everyday and see how the Nuts have done. Boy, the jokes that flew around when it was announced the Modesto Professional Baseball team would be known as the Nuts. ;D

Let's all meet at the ball park and watch our Nuts!
Come out to the park and be a Nuts supporter!! :o

When does football season start?

Personally, I never saw the need for weed.

I hear you...I'm just hip enough to know better. I like having a job and all that stuff rather than sitting around watching skate/snowboard footage and munching on Cheetos all day. Of course the joke is referring to the Linfield Lax team, which needed it so bad they couldn't wait to finish their road trip before firing up in college vans.

I know I'm grasping at straws here. But my box of ammo is pretty empty in terms of football banter, so I gotta dig a little.

:o gasp!  :o Not at little ol' Linfield!

What is it with LaCrosse players anyway? First Linfield, now Duke...
{Clever sign-off goes here.}

Swede-

Last time I checked, Charles Dutra (also of Menlo) was also playing for Wyoming -
He and Borba palyed for Black Hills last year -

Add Steve Gonzalez (AFL2 - Manchester Wolves) and "little" Menlo College (enrollment of around 600) has 3 (or more - still checking for others) playing indoor football!

Thomas Ford scored a TD in victory over Wyoming in a big victory for the Tri Cities Fever:  You can find the video clip at: Catdomalumni.com

Two articles on Brett Elliott and the draft.  The first is in the USA Today (w/Photo).  Elliott is listed as a small college draft gem.

The second is in the Oregonian (by Norm Maves Jr.) and talks about Brett's future in the NFL.

You can find both links to the article in the news section of: Catdomealumni.com News

Yo Webmaster11,

It does indeed look like you've found a new hobby. I've been sooo tempted to sign your guestbook, but I can't figure out how to make my name appear with a PLU logo (LaVerne & Shirley) instead of that ol' constipated 'Cat.

Lance Harbor

Hello NWC fans,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while.  It's been a very tumultuous off-season for Lance.  Not to get off-subject, but I wanted to check in and report some awesome news.

This Fall, I will be relocating to the Central Virginia area.  I will be less than an hour from the greater metropolitan Roanoke region.  More specifically, the Salem, VA region.  Even more specifically, Salem Stadium, home of the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

Is there any chance -- any chance at all -- that the Linfield Wildcats might be playing there in December?  I'd love to know.  Keep me posted.

If popes are Catholic and Rabbis are Jewish then the Wildcats have a chance at being in Salem come December.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

If bears evacuate their bowels in the woods,....

Hey Lance,

Good luck with your move. Don't know if you've ever made the trip out there for the Stagg Bowl before, but if not I think you'll find out soon enough Salem Stadium is a sweet place for a football game - bowl shaped with a cool atmosphere.

I like the 'Cats chances. Still have plenty of weapons on both sides of the ball as we reload with a very hungry team. Hope to see you there.........
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Just wanted to wish the best of luck to Brett this weekend in the draft!!  Will be watching. I think there still is a very small chance that he could be a sleeper late in the draft but if not,  I am confident that he will be in someones training camp this fall,  more than likely, the free-agent route.  As I  stated on the WIAC board, a complete snub will convince me that not only is the "D-3 Bias, " alive and well but completely out of control!!!  What amazing quick release and accuracy he has!!    GOOD LUCK, BRETT!!

Mel Kiper Jr., draft guru, has UO qb Kellen Clemens ranked as the 5th best qb in the whole draft??? Doesn't he know that Elliott is better than Clemens?? Doesn't he read post patterns?
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.
