Boy, I  got my other post  up just in time! ;D

Thanks rockcat...

Congrats to New head Coach Joe Smith.  Just posted on the Linfield Athletics News Release.

Wildcat 11 for defensive coordinator! ;D
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Nevermind all that stuff I said about naming an interim coach for now and having to do an 'actual' search. Looks like I got all that wrong. I wonder if the job was even posted and how many candidates applied...but I guess it doesn't matter.

Anyway, congrats to Coach Smith. I don't know him at all, but I've heard enough to know that he is a solid coach and 100% Wildcat.

+ karma to all you who beat me at being the first to post JS
is the man. Also, the 'cats will have the best equip. manager in the NWC and one of the best in D3 football in Mack Fartag.

Fiery is one way to describe coach Smith. That's what I meant by the new flavor. Not any less delicious, just different. Anyone who has seen or been around coach Smith enough knows that the difference between a pissed off Locey and a pissed of Smith is miles apart. But who knows how he'll change his style as head coach. I, for one, am excited to see the way he molds this years team.

Interesting,  Locey and now Smith both were Defensive coordinators before becoming head coaches. And The Cats have been one of the top scoring teams in the Nation. ;D

Is it Football season yet?

Well, so much for the plate. Now let's set the rest of the table.

                                   50 and counting!

Best of luck to both Coach Locey and Coach Smith.

I was looking at Wildcat11's great Cats in Coaching page and the the list of D-III schools and their coaches. It got me to wondering. Besides Ad Rutschman and now Joe Smith, are there any other Linfield alums who have been head coaches in the college ranks?

Summer vacation has just started, but I think I'm ready to watch some Linfield football.

Thanks also to tez. ;) ;D

Great news and another smooth coaching transition at Linfield. I am excited to see Coach Smith infuse some extra enthusiasm into the team. The best candidate got the job.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

On Sunday June 25th CSTV will be runnig a 30 minute documentary called "Chasing the Dream: A Quarterbacks Story. Guess which QB?  ;D.
It will be shown on Comcast, Direct T.V. and channel 152 the  Dish network. It will also be on Monday the 26th.

Congrats to Coach Locey!  Oregon State has landed a very good coach that will enhance that program with his football knowledge and his Christian influence as well.

Coach Locey will be in a good situation and make twice as much as he did at Linfield with much less pressure.  And yes, I believe the head coach at Linfield has more pressure on him than Coach Riley at OSU.  I'm sure many will disagree.

Also, congrats to Coach Smith!  He will do a great job because he learned from Coach Locey and he has his own firey style that players love.

If coach Nagle takes over on offense like I'm sure he will, then the offense will do just fine.  Many probably aren't aware that Coach Nagle was courted by SOU to become the head coach two different times, but he declined.

Swede,

Just saw a rough copy of the show and it's pretty good. Brett's a natural in front of the cameras, so his post-football future looks pretty bright. Hopefully they don't change the final version too much.

Now that Smith has moved up has anyone given any thought as to filling the defensive Coordinator position?
I was thinking of ex-'cat Chris Casey.

I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all the NWC dads out there.

Chris Casey is currently the head coach of my alma matter- Aloha High School. Why would anyone want to leave that plush job?
