Thanks #11 for the clip of the game with PU. Even though I was there one of those posts got in my way so this is the first time I've seen it. If I am not mistaken at first a flag was thrown and the ref indicated it was against the 'cats and then langsdorf went running out on the field. I kept yelling for some one to tell me what was going on. I think Monday night football picked up the feed from one of the Portland stations and showed it at halftime.

Who do see as Linfields toughest opponents?

Hardin-Simmons? In terms of the NWC race, I'd say the Whitworth Pirates followed by Willamette and Pacific Lutheran.
I'd have to say HS, Whitworth, PLU and Willamette. Bearcats better change up their Offense for this one or it'll be same-o same-o.

Wildcat 11,

Indeed that 1989 touchdown preventing sideline blindside really is bizarre.  Thanks for the clip.

Press release for Elliott TV show:

NEW YORK – June 20, 2006 – CSTV: College Sports Television will air a special half-hour documentary, Chasing the Dream: A Quarterback's Story, which traces the arduous journey of under-the-radar, former collegiate All-American quarterback Brett Elliott as he trains for the National Football League draft and competes for a spot on the San Diego Chargers.  The special, which will air on Sunday, June 25 at 8:00 pm (ET), is narrated by Elliott and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the quarterback's preparations, struggles and roller coaster emotional ride leading up to and on draft day, followed by his uphill challenge to beat out fellow quarterbacks and secure a roster spot with the San Diego Chargers.

Brett Elliott was a highly recruited quarterback out of Lake Oswego, OR who attended the University of Utah. After starting eight games for the Utes during his sophomore season, Elliott injured his wrist and lost his starting quarterback spot to Alex Smith, the former No. 1 selection in the 2005 NFL Draft.  Instead of transferring to another Division 1 school and losing a year of eligibility, Elliott chose to attend Division III Linfield College (McMinniville, OR).

During two seasons at Linfield, Elliott threw for 110 touchdowns and more than 8,000 yards.  A two-time consensus All-American, in 2005 Elliott completed 69.9 percent of his passes (277 of 396) for 4,019 yards and 49 touchdowns.  As a junior in 2004, Elliott threw for an NCAA all-divisions record of 61 touchdowns and led Linfield to the Division III National Championship.

"This show was a fun way to document my quest as I followed my NFL dream," said Elliott. "Having the CSTV cameras around actually relaxed me and allowed me to blow off some steam while talking about what I was going through, rather than keeping it all inside.  After graduating, I had no idea what the NFL Draft process was all about and hopefully watching what I went through will help future prospects prepare themselves for the grueling physical and emotional demands."

The half-hour show features intimate commentary by Elliott recalling his round-about amateur football career and outlook about moving home with his family and fellow star wide receiver to train for the NFL draft.  The program also includes an interview with San Diego Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer, compelling footage from Elliott's NFL pro day workout, and brings viewers right along side the quarterback and his family on draft day as he waits to learn his fate.

We have not heard about the blog that BE started a couple of months ago. Has that wilted on the vine?

No entries on Brett's blog since March 23 after he ran his 5.0 in the 40 at Linfield.

team first......I think this '06 Cat team is going to surprise alot of people! After graduating some of the best to play football at Linfield, I'm not sure they will drop off much, if any!

Last year many of the kids that will play this year got lots of time on the field. The 2nd team beat the opponents first team almost every game.

As far as the db's are concerned, let the others think the Cats will be weak.  The kid from Idaho plays db, we have an all-state player in Bubba Lemon coming in, and still have some of the guys from last year. Sure guys like Haze will be missed, But the Cats seem to get the most out of who they have!

;D GO WILDCATS  LEAVE NO DOUBT '06 ;D
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!

I know they got a freshman QB that wa recruited by Louisville, Pitt, Fresno and Nevada......and So Oregon, Wilamette and several 1AA scholls back east.  He was all state in Ca, maybe he and a few other recruits will challenge Linfield......

I am anxious for the season to start...this board is more active than the SCIAC one...looks like fun

Redlands decided they didn't want that challenge when they stopped scheduling Linfield in the regular season.

Wel.....maybe in the next couple of years they will meet in the playoffs......I have not seen the entire recruiting list but I hear it is really a good class.

Maybe in a year or two.  The SCIAC should be pretty competative.  Oxy lost a lot but have Collins coming back, who may be the best athlete in DIII football this fall.  Redlands will have their work cut out for them.

Welcome, dawgs go deep.........

rockcat.......maybe now since a local boy, John Pearson is playing for Redlands they could answer the phone when Linfield calls. Would be nice for him to play in front of his home town once in his career. ;D

dgd... for your info the dawgs started ducking the Cats a few years ago, ??? didn't like the "L" everytime they played the the Wildcats! I believe in the...you have to play the best to become the best. Anyway, will see what happens. Seems both schools could use 1 more game!
