Anyone know when the High School camps come through the cat dome?

wyd

testing one two three..... I have been quiet for a while now.  Thought I would stop by and say hi after watching all of he Linfield videos.  I guess we are gearing up for another season huh.  I must have missed the Linfield coaching change.  Sorry about that.  Sounds like the new head guy knows the system pretty darn well.

Cut City,

The first high school camp finished on Wednesday, and the second one starts on Saturday. There were something like 700 kids there, and I guess the second one will be as big. I think there was even a team from Alaska there. I know there were some from California.

Hey, Wyd, nice to hear from you!

Can some generous cat fan out there record the elliot piece and send me a copy? I would be most appreciative.

Did you have any luck finding somebody to record this for you? If nothing else, I should be able to make a copy of the rough edit (the DVD CSTV sent me a few weeks ago) for you. Imagine it will be pretty close to the version that airs Sunday, although they will probably make a few minor editorial changes.

Linfield Video: Special edition!

***Just posted up some footage I shot of the first football camp at Linfield.  I'll post up two of the team competitions (tug of war, sumo) over the weekend.  Enjoy.  -11

Great footage there, WC 11.
I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
Did you happen to shoot any at mealtimes -- like who could eat the most hamburgers?

Is it a field goal or extra point?  Three or one depending.

Although i never post frequently on this part of the broad, i do manage to catch up with what you guys are up to.

First off, Good luck to guys on your upcoming season. I know you guys will manage to adjust and get it going with your new coach at the helm. I am sure your everyone there is ready to make it back into post season play. Much respect.

The only why i am posting here is because as i was reading and updating with what you guys said and i happened toi ran across a poster who is new to the SCIAC broad and loves Redlands. Anywho's, this guys decided to set him self up and call out oxy and their schedule. Which is fine. But, he never mentioned it in the SCIAC site and instead brought it out here. I know it would be great to face teams other than Lewis and Clark from up north, but thats not a teams fault. I would be great to go to the Catdome during the regular season but i don't control that. THis type of game would do great to Oxy onces they get back to Cali and know that if they can hang in with a respected program like Linfield, we could sweep the SCIAc and hope to see you guys again in the playoffs.    What do you guys think?

Wildcat 11,

Thanks for more great footage.  You have definitely gone pro.  The qualify of your video wizardry is most impressive.  In 10 more posts I will sprinkle you with some D3 message board Holy Water. ;)

I know you are not one to toot your own horn but I think the rest of us posters need to be reminded that you still hold the single season sack record at Linfield at 18, and are second in career sacks with 27. Darn impressive performance at a place that is loaded with outstanding performance.   You are the man.

CamCat, Holy Water.....That's a good one, I took care of it for you this time.

WC11, great clips as always, Tony worked for my Brother and I during the summer after graduation. Nice kid, was kinda funny to find out he was the one who got cheated a TD after the INT. I was at the game, and unlike swede saw the play, He was so lucky to not have been seriously injured on the play! I too enjoyed watching you play 11!

With the sound of pads hitting pads at the Catdome, the season can't be far off.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

So how's the weather in the great northwest?  What a great time of year . . . incredibly long days . . . hope you all have some sunshine and are enjoying life.  At any rate, here's my response:

A drop kick is worth 3 pts from play, same as a field goal (look at NCAA Football Rules for 2005):

SECTION 4. Field Goal
How Scored
ARTICLE 1. a. Afield goal shall be scored for the kicking team if a drop
kick or place kick passes over the crossbar between the uprights of the
receiving team's goal before it touches a player of the kicking team or
the ground. The kick shall be a scrimmage kick but may not be a free
kick.

That's the same point value as in rugby union which is where it is still relevant.  I think Arena football renders 4 pts for a drop kick (see Wikipedia).  I'm guessing that in a PAT situation, that the kicker could drop kick for the single point, but that makes little sense as it is a much more risky move than the held PAT (same for field goal).

I am the guy that browneagle is referring to.....I would hardly label what I said as calling out Oxy....I said that Redlands has a tougher preseason schedule than Oxy.  I dont think anyone can argue that.  I did not make any derrogatory statement that Oxy is ducking anyone or any other such negative comment.  Facts are fact...dont read anything else intomy statement.

I made no comment as to who the better team is because I really dont know that much about either team.  Before you make a negative remark, make sure you read the post correctly, dont read anything into it that isnt actually posted. :( ;) ;) ;) ;)

Thank You.
