Quick Predictions for 9/17

Wow. I was pretty close with some of those scores. Maybe I should think of becoming a bookie. Or maybe not. ;D

Good job! keep this up and I'll start calling you Jimmy the Greek

I'd like to hear what others think about the announcers on T.V. these days. Seems to me they are either bias or just don't know what they are talking about. It seems they are mainly ex players. What happened to the guys of the past. Don't get me wrong there are still some quaility guys, but very few. Thoughts?
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

hey,
are they really going to set up an alumni game? if they are i hope someone lets me know.

Alumni game tonight, Alums vs. alums. #92 will be out. Broke his thumb in last one. Oh well, he's got a family to support.

Correcton on the Linfield alumni game - it will be the alumni vs. this year's JV team.  Should be interesting!

wildcatter23

Well, I see I have my old posting total back.  Thanks, Pat!  This is my first post under the new system.  (I had not kept track of my previous posts, so I'm surprised to find it must have been 34.)

Great game Saturday against UW-SP, and impressed with the tremendous improvement by the 'Cat defense compared with their showing last year at SP.

GO CATS!  50 in 05!

Thanks wildcatter, I stand corrected.

Thanks. Hopefully no one puts a microphone in front of me @ a restaurant where I make a fool of myself and kill my career as a result of it. :-X

Maybe I should try to make some bolder predictions. I'll have some in a few weeks for a few games.

CamCat

Thank you TopCat 1.  I appreciate the offer and will see you there.  If I move to Mac, in a few years, a great place to live,
you have a leg up on getting my first vote.

I don't know of your political persuasion but I'm much more receptive to whatever it is after having a great seat for the next wildcat victory.    :-*

NWCprops

Looking at the NWC schedules it looks like Willamette is playing nothing but horses, while UPS, PLU and Whitworth are playing considerably weaker opponents. Willamette has played D2 WOU, 2nd ranked UMHB and previously #4 ranked (NAIA) Azusa Pacfic. While their competition for 2nd place in the conference are playing light-weights....Pomona-Pitzer, Clairmont Mudd, LaVern, Cal Lutheran and a decent Redlands
program.  My point is...looking at the Willamette team (only 4 seniors) with 96 under classmen..is improving every week against some of the best competition in the nation and could be ready to upset the plans of a couple of the NWC contenders.  The Bearcats only managed 174 yards in their opener vs WOU....but improved that to 325 vs. UMHB (one of the better defenses in the country..and then 390 vs. APU.
They actually dominated the statistics down in LA..23-17 first downs, 390 to 350 yards and held the ball 14 minutes longer.
It would be a stretch to think a team this young could threaten Linfield but I bet they give the rest of the conference all they want.  But, like a previous poster stated..Menlo is a must win for their confidence.  Should be interesting to see what happens as the young B-cats mature.

Dr. Sparky

We all know Linfield beat WOU 49-7 at Western Oregon...did others notice this score from last weekend:

Eastern Washington 48
Western Oregon 7
AT CHENEY

Eastern is ranked 5th in this week's 1AA poll and received 10 first place votes, yet at home posted only the same (essentially) score against Western Oregon as Linfield did playing at WOU.

Too bad Eastern Oregon isn't available to play Linfield as a replacement for Lewis and Clark...or maybe another Big Sky opponent  ;)

realjc

Speaking of upsets, what about UC Davis beating Stanford? All I can say is wow. The Aggies are not skipping much of a beat, they have been dominating DII football for a long time. Looks like they will make the transition to the big time just fine.

I hear the Alumni game was the real deal!  Alumni 10 JV 7, Classic!

criswyly

Dr Sparky,
Nice observation....I also noticed that EWU didn't put the game away until the fourth quarter.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

spiritof86

Wow- interesting about WOU/EW. Wou is a jekyl and hyde team though as illustrated by their 2 game series with WW last year.

Interesting on WU, I had not realized how well their offense played the last 2 games. If they are going to be keeping anyone out of the playoffs or the NWC hunt, I am not sure who it would be though. They will not beat Linfield or Whit, and ups and plu are going to become non-factors a few more games down the road.

I was in Louisville for the OSU game last weekend. What a disaster. Louisville is a great team, but the Beavers stench could probably have been smelled in the Willamette Valley.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

woufan

Yeah, the EWU score was different. WOU picked up 17 first downs and didn't punt until the fourth quarter.

I think the perfect replacement game for Linfield this year would've been Carroll College. I would've loved to have seen that.
