DenS,

There was an article about Randy Marshall in a recent News-Register that you'd enjoy reading. You can probably get it online.

Good stuff 11, . . . I'm with you on the "unknown" factor of Menlo, but they always play tough at home. Of course the notorious "12th" man never hurts!  ;D ;D
It isn't a 12th man for Menlo at home. For a bay area field, it is hot there! The visiting team usually has as many fans except in the case of U of San Diego and Linfield last year. They each had more people there than there were of Oaks faithful.

Off to the San Juans. I'll check in again when I get home.

The heavy work for the Linfield press guide more or less begins this morning as SID Kelly Bird returns to the office after taking some very well deserved time off with his family.   The advertising is being sold right now, and Kelly is as usual, working on making the book look fresh and new and not just rely on last seasons' boilerplates.    I'll probably get a look at a draft in the next couple of weeks.

Regarding the band.....the solution is a win-win as far as I'm concerned.   The athletic department is getting the revenue from the seats with the band being in the north endzone.   Now, I'm sure we will all agree that we hope that the band will put in some real leg work this year and not be a "show up with your horn on Saturday" venture like it has been in the past.     The days of the Wildcats coming onto the field accompanied by the Olympic Theme by a snare drum (not the tympanis of Bluenote's day) are hopefully long gone.

Couldn't have said it better...The olympic theme was BRUTAL, I hated that!   :-X

Wow, Cooney's return was almost as good as that Blake Elliott kid who played for that one red team a few years back.  ;D

In all seriousness, that was an amazing return and had I not known better, I would have thought that was Blake returning the punt.

How are your boys looking this year? Ready for the 1st playoff run of the post-Locey era?

We've got a fair amount coming back, but as always it'll depend a lot on luck, how well the boys play together and some newbies stepping up huge.

+k to the last 3 pages of the NWC board in honor of the 1 year anniversary of TDT coming out of the closet.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Just my luck.............gone for a few days
come back and Kilted Rat is passing out karma like candy. I think I was 4 pages back!

WC11, great clip, I love the shot from high up in the Catdome, sweeping across, and then the post! Classic. :)

Update on the 60th anniversery, nice turn out and Dad made it alittle over an hour. Mother was so happy, Thanks to all who gave greatings and kind words.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Orca Jr.

The "12th man" i was referring to was not the 12th man of Seahawks and Texas A&M fame, but that of the zebra kind.  I don't think it's any secret that over the last few trips down to California the 'Cats have gotten absolutely homered by the refs.  I remember an especially atrocious officiating job in 2003.
There's nothing like being a wildcat.  Some say they understand, but until you've lived it, you have no idea.

How about this bit of history? As Ted Wilson used to say, "A grain of sand shifting can eventually bring down the whole pyramid."
Theoretically so, I did not buy it then and still chuckle at his 'witdoms' today.

"In its sixth game, a 58-20 victory over Lewis & Clark, the LINFIELD fans applauded the Pioneers for just being able to field a team. An alcohol incident led to 27 Lewis & Clark players turning in their gear with several more resigning in sympathy."

That was an incredible play by Cooney.  I was calling the game on the campus radio station and didn't know what the heck to say.  It was so loud under the stadium that I doubt anybody could have heard me over the background noise anyway.

He was kamikaze on punt returns.  It seems like he never took a fair catch, even if there were a bunch of guys in his grill.

I'd do anything to be in Poulsbo.  It was 109 on Saturday and really freaking humid down here in Pasadena and will be over 100 again today.  I thought the weather in California was supposed to be nice?!

Props to Brandon Bennett, OL from Willamette, for making the D3Football preseason All-American second team.   :D    If numbers on the AA squad count, appears that the ASC has the most football talent nationally, and Willamette, Whitworth, and Linfield are equally the teams to beat in the NWC.   :)
