we always say what we mean and mean what we say.

The Alumni/JV Game was awesome. Wildcat11 looked like a literal giant out there. I think he's lost some weight too because his belly used to be about 2 times that large about a year ago, like his dad ;D ! Man, the alumni team was just full of total studs out there. I think they should form their own semi-pro team and play in the NW League against the Thunderbolts, etc during the summer. I don't see why they don't, there seems to be quite a good group around and I think even there was a team from Newberg a year or so ago... That would be great to see....maybe Wildcat11 could get some feelers out and see if it would be feasible. They could play there home games at the CatDome!

wow...I'm jealous...UPS gets another game and we don't? Well..they are having another Alumni/JV game instead?...that's cool.

Looking at the NWC schedules it looks like Willamette is playing nothing but horses, while UPS, PLU and Whitworth are playing considerably weaker opponents. Willamette has played D2 WOU, 2nd ranked UMHB and previously #4 ranked (NAIA) Azusa Pacfic. While their competition for 2nd place in the conference are playing light-weights....Pomona-Pitzer, Clairmont Mudd, LaVern, Cal Lutheran and a decent Redlands
program.  My point is...looking at the Willamette team (only 4 seniors) with 96 under classmen..is improving every week against some of the best competition in the nation and could be ready to upset the plans of a couple of the NWC contenders.  The Bearcats only managed 174 yards in their opener vs WOU....but improved that to 325 vs. UMHB (one of the better defenses in the country..and then 390 vs. APU.
They actually dominated the statistics down in LA..23-17 first downs, 390 to 350 yards and held the ball 14 minutes longer.
It would be a stretch to think a team this young could threaten Linfield but I bet they give the rest of the conference all they want.  But, like a previous poster stated..Menlo is a must win for their confidence.  Should be interesting to see what happens as the young B-cats mature.
NWCprops-Good read on how the Bearcats are doing.  Here's hoping they mature quickly and finish off many more of their offensive drives.  If they can, I see a lot of Bearcat points on the scoreboard.   Now, if the defense can also step up and make more big plays . . . .

You guys all seem very impressed by NWCProps post, and while I agree with him that Willamette has played tougher opponents than PLU and Whitworth, I can't help but point out that if Willamette can't beat Menlo they stand little chance of finishing second in the NWC.  After all, Menlo lost to Whittier, a team that traditionally gets pounded by "lightweights" such as Cal Lu...

At the end of the News Register article on the uwsp game, it says that Linfield has tentatively scheduled a game at Hardin Simmons for next year. Wow. I was unaware.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

OK blue,
Its 50 crunches for you, I guess I will have to get the abs back in shape

I think I pulled a hammy just looking at the pictures of the alumni game. I am still in pretty decent shape nine years after my last snap of football at Redlands but there is no way I could strap it up with the young bucks like the Cat alumni did. Very cool stuff though and I bet it was a ton of fun. Wildcat11 looks like he can still bring it.

Cheaters, Cheaters, Pumpkin Eaters.

I told you Linfield was using alcohol and women to attract recruits to McMinnville.  That's a slippery slope you're on Wildcats.

First it's a beer bust - harmless underage drinking at a loud party.  Then it's a domestic violence incident off-campus.  Then it's a weapons charge here and there.  Pretty soon 2LiveCru is making donations to the Linfield endowment fund, Tom Osborne is bankrolling a candidate in the McMinnville sheriff's race, and somebody opens a sports book at a local casino.

Like the fall of the Roman Empire, Linfield's purple reign may come to an end as a victim of its own excess.

Linfield will replace the Lewis and Clark game, November 5th, with the Linfield Alumni vs. J.V. Part 2

Top Cat 1,
Thanks for watching out for my interests in Ward 1.  I'll be sure to get with the "voice of the Cats" to help you keep things in line on the Council.
Don't worry about the limo, the security personnel have it all taken care of!
I thought perhaps we could add the cost to fix the leak in the Catdome bill to the federal transportation bill.  After all their is money to go to the Dundee Bypass in the bill and we know all those folks are on their way to the Catdome.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

ECLute,

While I'm tempted to join you in jumping all over this Sinfield story, let's also remember that these are 20- and 21-year old college students. I can recall a time or two when it was fortunate that Parkland's finest had more important things to attend to than MIP's. This looks pretty bad because it happened during the season, but it sounds as though it is being dealt with swiftly.

D,

No getting around the Linfield boys making very poor choices and I can remember dodging a few bullets back in the day as well.  I've heard it's gotten out of control in Mac with the police and the college cracking down on the parties.  It sounds like the parties back in the day were like Mardi Gras compared to what they get away with now.  Even back then, I've never seen cops with less to do than in McMinnville, so I can just imagine how it is now!  The kicker of the story...one of the MIP's 21st birthday was yesterday!  Would of been cool of the cop to give him a break, but...sorry bout his luck...good lesson for the rest of the boys on the squad.

d-train.....I agree with your sentiments.    This situation is going to be taken care of in a prompt and efficient fashion.

You're right to discuss your alma mater in this.  Every college campus has some sort of alcohol problem....those who would deny this aren't being truthful.   And really, who can forget the episode on "Cops" where the Pierce County Sheriffs roll into a drug house in Lakewood and fish out one suspect wearing an "EMAL" t-shirt??

That's my all time favorite COPS episode! :D

d-train

Serious? I never heard about that COPS clip. That's pretty funny stuff.
