Kirasdad. You nailed it with location. 2 non-d3, 1 trip to texas/wisonsin/california depending on who we can work a game out with, and then the regular gig with Menlo in the Bay Area who just joined the NWC. The budget just isn't there for another cross (half)country trip.

D O.C.

hatchetman75...welcome aboard.

Why does that Rory character wear a Willamette backpack when he plays?

raiderguy

That's OK Kirasdad, KR will run scrieking into the night at the slightest mention of teams like:

Augsburg

Carleton

Crown College

Gustavus

Hamline

St. Thomas

Little Sisters of the Poor

Oooooooooooooh  There's a scary bunch!

They all happen to be on the schedule this year except maybe one or two.

The new coach at UW Eau Claire (St. Johns first opponent) was the coach at Marietta last year. It should be interesting he is an Eau Claire grad returning home.

I would suggest that Marietta, Wilmington and especially Otterbein would take any one of the above mentioned to the wood shed.

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

I was blessed to see Mount Union vs Concubine...I mean Otterbein a couple of years ago.  It was a real thriller! :)  There's nothing like a weekend alone in central Ohio to get the juices flowing.

coco

Welcome, hatchetman.

UPS has been lacking posters, so it's good to have you here.

KR! Who scheduled Crown?
BTW, those were great posts between you and the UST guy.

Kirasdad, we even have to play a D2 team (WOU) and an NAIA team (SOU) to get the number of games we have.

The only reason SJU had to schedule Crown was because Macalaster dropped from the conference and SJU's AD had about 6 months to find a replacement.

Very few teams had open spots that week and even fewer wanted to come to SJU the last week of the season.

scrieking ? Is that similar to shrieking?

Good to see your MUC(k) education serving you well  ;)

BTW, Gustavus has as many alums in NFL camps currently as Linfield does (which is unfortunately 1 more than SJU).

Will the Mt Union scout be at any SJU games this year?

Kirasdad,
I knew you weren't trying to start anything, I just feel sorry for the Linfield boys and their isolated under-sized conference because they have to answer these questions every week it seems.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!  Swede, I can't reply to PM's yet (new rule for the new guys, I guess), but thanks for the welcome too. :)

Are we getting any news out of Willamete or Whitworth yet?

Hatchetman,
Welcome to the board,  I was in Tacoma a couple of days ago and saw your boys were hard at work at the UPS practice field.

From what I could see they were holding an outdoor class on the proper way to put their pads on ???

Phone it in   ( I had to do it)

Hatchet,

Welcome to the board.  I'm still waiting for Pennstlbu to make his way back.  Curious to see who's your QB will be after 4 years of Carlson running your stall offense  ;)

I think the board will be a little more diverse this year with the Rats, Pearcats, Lutes, and Loggers all looking to knock off the 'Cats.  Looking forward to it.

BTW...I was checking out "New College Helmets for 2006" on The Helmet Project (towards bottom link of the side menu) and they show Whitworth is coming out with new headgear for the season but they don't show what the logo will look like.

Well I did some detective work and uncovered the Rats new football logo....2006 Pi-Rats

Damn the spell check ....Full speed ahead.

The new Linfield website is nice and all, but it doesn't make up for the fact that Lute gals are way better looking. (link:-*

GHC: I'm jealous I couldn't be up there to watch'em myself.  They've gotta make sure the pads are strapped on tight, so they don't explode out of them everytime they hit someone.

wildcat: I'm not 100% on this, but it may be a Sophmore by the name of Kavin Williams (sp).  Bigger and faster than Carlson was.  By all accounts he can throw the ball better too.  I think he played a bit of wingback when the Loggers played WOU, laid some good hat.

I personally know PennStatelbu, but I don't know where he's gone off too.

KR

It is a combo word of screaming and shrieking. New Websters Dictionary 2008 edition.

I will trade your spelling "B" championship for our #9,#9,#9,#9,#9,#9 awl dey lung.

It doesn't diminish the fact the MIAC teams I highlighted are not the same caliber of the OAC teams.

Yes there will be some scouting assignments again this year.

Could it be the infomation I gave to LK helped SJU win in '03? Hmmmm.

Never looked at it that way before. So it is all my fault (or to my credit) SJU won in '03.!

I think I'll go find a sword to fall on.

Or a trophy to polish.

Sounds like there may be a KR clan sighting this year too. I'll look forward to it.

How can you make that claim? There's no head-to-head games and no common opponents.

I can claim Hamline is better than every OAC team besides the Muc(k) but that doesn't make it so.

Enjoy your trophy, I'll go enjoy SJU's current winning streaks against MUC(k) and Linfield ;D
