Good news in Portland Tribune about Lewis & Clark football season.

GO CATS, GO

It's a sad thing when 45 players reporting for camp is good news.  But hey, the NWC teams need the wins to bolster their records.  Let's hope LC doesn't lose too many guys, or they'll have to pad up the cheerleaders.

Pineconefan,
Wildcat 11 was probably in the Rat backfield with his  Wildcat helmet decal buried in the face of the Rat QB.

Good article on Coach Smith in today's Oregonian.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Big Bookend

Is there any recent news out there about the Lute program?

Even though they've been down some recently, one can't help but remember all those heart-stopping games of yesteryear. Perhaps them being down recently is a good thing for some of us "older" fans. Not many of us are interested in heart-stoppages anymore.   ;D

Hows that?

spirit, they are going to move the stuff to make room for the new products. Just wanted to let people know to get in soon or it will be gone!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!

Quick follow up.

I have seen both groups of teams play for one.

Just a quick check of last years records has the MIAC group at 15-34 and for the most part the victories for each came against the other bottom feeders.

The OAC group had a 14-16 combined record so they weren't just beating each other. Given MIAC and OAC had two teams in the in playoffs last year evens things up a bit but ONU and JC would stand above St Olaf and St Thomas IMHO.

Ok I'll take our 8 trophies and go polish them. Oh and our 3-1 record against teams from Minnesota.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

GHC,
Huh?  Not exactly sure what you said has to do with me liking the logo WC11 suggested...

Tuxguy,
I don't think you have to worry about 51 in 2006 for the cats.  It's a given they should and will win the conference.  Even though the cats lost some great players, they still have enough fire power in the program to keep it strong.

GHC,
Good to see you still are using the phrase "Phone it in" always a fan of that one.  Good luck this year.

Did I miss some dialogue or article in the last 7 months?

QuoteThey have won 60 of their last 66 games. They won the NCAA Division III national championship two seasons ago and still think they should have won it again last year.-Norm Maves OREGONIAN

Get a  win against Wisconsin-Whitewater I believe "they" knew there would be one more game and then perhaps another.  I don't know of any one who resembles that quote.

"still think they should have won the UWW game", yeah.

Cut City

Dens,
Anyone who doubts that the cats from last year had the ability to win the championship last year is just ignorant. Of course we feel like we should have won it all again. Yes, we still would have had had 2 more to play, and at least one of those would have been a huge challenge. But change 1 or 2 plays in the uww game and we're probably rolling into the championship game feeling good. There's a lot of cats who played last year who know we should have taken care of business and got another one. We just didn't. I'd be willing to bet that UWW, Capitol(-3 to Mt.in the 1/4's), probably even Rowan(-12 in semi's) and del. valley(-6 to rowan in the 1/4's) all felt they should have won it last year. For one reason or another, they all didn't make the 1 or 2 big plays when they needed to. Its not that we deserved to win it last year, but we should have. If I misunderstood your point, I apologize in advance.
