You gotta see Invinsible, the true story of Vincent Papala. A 30 year old bartender with no college and only one year of high school ball who goes to a tryout with the Eagles.

As I mentioned in a earlier post Travis Masters will be one of the leading kick returners in D3.

Glad to hear Travis will be back. He is exciting to watch. He also contributed well as a backup on O two years ago.

Tonight's Charger-Seahawk game is blacked out in the San Diego area.
Will it be broadcasted in the Great Northwest?
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

yes R&P, looking forward to seeing Brett play.

Go CATS!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Outstanding! Break open a cold one and enjoy the game.
I just read about the Linfield Football Team Swim Olympics in today's New-Register.
Sounds like the team is having a good time. Can't wait for the opening kickoff.

All the reports that I read in the SD papers this week quoted Marty Schottenheimer saying that Brett wasn't going to play tonight.

I hope he changes his mind...... :D

From the San Diego Union-Tribune
"Quarterback Philip Rivers will play into the second quarter Saturday, but Schottenheimer said he hasn't decided who will follow. Fourth quarterback Brett Elliott will likely not play."

Schottenheimer hasn't decided. Sounds more like the writer's opinion about Brett.
Right now Rivers is stinking it up. Two fumbles...two scores for the Seahawks. Whitehurst didn't play very well last week. I sure hope Brett gets a chance.

That Sucks!

Having been a Rams Fan all my life,( please no smites) and adding the Seahawks later on I was ready to be a chargers wanna be fan tonight. Guess not!

After watching Whitehurst last week how could you not give Elliott a chance!!!IMHO  ( B.C. .....  I know their is much more to it)  After a few plays tonight, with fumbles and picks maybe it's a good thing Brett is on the sidelines. Guess we will never know. I wish him the BEST!

Wildcats are fine tuning, and sharpening their claws for the start of the season!

I just don't get it! 24-20 in  the 4th, Feeley throws a T.D to go up by 11 and you get the ball back with less than 2:00 and Shotz puts Feeley back in to run out the clock.
Rivers will be the #1 QB and Feeley most probably #2 with Whitehurst #3 because he was the #1 pick and gets the big bucks, Was ole Marty trying to get Feeley hurt on that last series so Brett could replace him.

RedandPurple,

Thanks for the Chargers, play by play for those of us who did not see the game.
It would be great to see Elliott play but I hope he has some great receivers to throw the ball to. Part of his greatness at Linfield was the All American wide receivers he had to throw to. Before Elliott the old QB touchdown NCAA passing record held by Willie Totten at Missippi Valley State in the early 80's was impressive, but then you remember his wide receiver was Jerry Rice.  Have you ever heard of Willie Totten after that?

The highly touted #1 draft pick Alex Smith had a horrible year with the 49ers last year, I would think largely because he had poor receivers.

Without excellent receivers how can a great passing QB showcase his talent?

I am sure getting psyched about the reports I am getting on the this year's Wildcat team.  It sure looks like we could have a pretty darn strong team again this year.  I'm afraid the last 2 years may have spoiled us forever though with the strong offensive game we put together week after week.

Swede....NFL preseason is not the park and rec league where everyone gets the chance to play.  Looking at SD's quarterback situation, I hope that they aren't shopping around for an NFL veteran in the waiver wire this week so that they would send Brett home entirely.

Linfield nation...don't think for a minute Brett isn't getting a chance to show what he can and can't do.    It is happening in practice....like everyplace else.    Last Saturday, I saw seven QB's at practice.....it isn't like there is some moral obligation to have all seven guys get a chance in a scrimmage situation....the position coaches determine the pecking order in practice.   Same thing is happening in San Diego.
