Pat,

That was a good line,  had to +k for that one. In fact, I have started as many NFL games as they have.  ;)
As I said, It's going to be interesting! The  regular season hasn't even started, but the games have begun!  :D

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Actually, the George signing is a bit amazing to me.....this was a guy who didn't have much mobility at the end when he was in the NFL...now with three years off, he's got that back?   Which of the Raider legends are they going to sign if George doesn't work out?   Todd Marinovich??

How about Vance Mueller?  Oxy fans should love that name being thrown out there.

Is George Blanda still around? ( forgive me if he has passed)
You get 2 for 1, Qb and a kicker.

In his day Jeff George threw a great ball and may well continue to do so - it was his baggage that got him.

dawgs go deep

frank, I agree his mouth and head got in the way of his feet and arm.

I have to agree with TuxGuy, Pat was right on the money.  I believe this afternoon at lunch I may have seen TuxGuy in a set of pads behind his store running through a few drills and exersizes!  I can understand TuxGuy's thinking too.  If George can sign with the Raiders, Tuxguy may be able to be re-incarnated as a member of the old Portland Thunder or Portland Storm which were almost as funny.  I did hear he is in negotiations with the XFL but hasn't realized they don't exist anymore either.  Just Kidding of course Tuxguy.  You are a great guy  ;D ;D ;D.

In all actuality, after reading a lot of the stuff on the Chargers cutting Feeley and the way Marty is talking up Whitehurst I wonder if he isn't trying to get good publicity for him.  I know the games I saw him play he did not look all that great and it may be easier and more cost effective for SD to trade away Whitehurst and pick up a veteran QB as #2 and keep Elliott.  I know that the Coach very seldom tips his hat, but he has something going through his mind.   After all I am sure that 3 QBs with zero experience has to be better than 1 George and 1 Collins combined.

Hope everthing is well with the Tux, WC64, Camcat, Coco, DesertCat, Swede, and everyone else.

Let the fun begin!

Back at you, TopCat.

I'm getting revved up for the season, too. I can't wait to finally get to see our boys on the field and look at what we've got going this season. I wish we didn't have to wait another week and a half.

... In any case, it looks likely that Brett will see some action Friday night against the 49ers....

Alex Smith and Brett Elliott back together on the same field!

Coco,  I am getting so revved up for the season that I was trying to wait but will be going south to see the Beavers play Thursday night.  I have been trying to rationlize why I would do such a thing and I could come up with only 4 reasons:

1.  The Cats don't play on Thursdays
2.  It is at least a real game on a real field.
3.  The seats are great and .....................and most imortant
4.  I can make believe I am watching the Cats with Riley, Locey, Langsdorf, and even Gilstrap on staff.  If I believe enough maybe I will even see purple and white and not black and orange.

No high school ball for a week here, so I will be firmly planted in my chair Friday watching the Niner-Charger game. I usually root for the Niners, but will be a Charger fan if Elliott is playing.  Updates will provided here if wanted. ;D

Ditto to that. I've been a 49er fan since the John Brodie days (grew up in the Bay area). I also lived in San Diego watching Lance Allworth. This friday I'll be cheering for the Bolts!
Can't wait to get to McMinnville on the 9th.
