The Assasin was Jack Tatum. He even titled his book, "They Call Me Assasin".

I liked some of the names that used to be given to defenses. coco already mentioned The Purple People Eaters. How about the Orange Crush, The Monsters of the Midway, The NY Sack Exchange, The Doomsday Defense, The Steel Curtain, The No Name Defense, The Feasome Foursome. Any others? Extra points for the names of the members of these Ds.  ;D
Orange Crush  Was Denver. Steel Curtain must have been Pittsburg.   What about the Over the Hill gang and of course the Hogs?

Good luck to Brett and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him Saturday night!  Of course, it will be while I am watching the Warhawks make a fish sandwich out of the Lakeland Muskies and after some terrific tailgating!!  The only remaining "cupcake" left on their non-conference schedule.  Sorry you guys have to wait for one more week to "Get it Started."  I'll be thinking of you all while I am tailgating and remembering your great hospitality and BBQ we had at the Cat Dome last year.  The best of luck to the Cats this season unless they play the Hawks!!   :) :) :)

This post got me a smite?? ???  Must be a Muskies poster!! ;D ;D or GHC!   ;)
I just gave you an applause for just being you!!!  Enjoy the tailgating as BC will be playing in Tropical storm Ernesto.  I'll be a drowned rat but a drowned rat with brownies :) :) :)  Good luck to the Cats and to the Hawks, they both wear one of my favorite colors:  the royal purple

RedandPuple,
Craig Morton at Cal...that's going back a ways...that must have been before my time...I do remember seeing the infamous Cal vs Stanford game on TV where Cal makes about 5 laterals with no time on the clock and scores running over the Stanford Sousaphone player....and I was a Stanford fan. ::)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

coco

Oline,

I don't envy you people down there having to deal with Ernesto, especially during the first game of the season.  Good luck.

Now this may be blindly optimistic, but with everything i've read i'm going to use my deductive reasoning skills and say that I think things are looking up for Brett.  In my mind, making the practice squad is a 100% victory and I believe that is very attainable.  I'm stoked to watch him play tonight.  All the 'Cat nation needs to be thinkin good things for him to get in the game and just Let it Rain!!

Some football trivia.
Here are the nicknames. Can you name the nfl players?

"Prime Time" , "Ironhead" , "The Snake", "Bullet", "Galloping Ghost", "Bad Moon", "The Assassin", "Bambi", "Sleeping with", "Night Train", "Moose", "Tombstone", and "The Nigerian Nightmare"

I would have thought "The Snake" was Jake Plummer.. maybe that's just the nickname I gave him.  :D

"Ironhead" Heyward made a guest appearence on Married with Children for any fans of mid-90's television.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

That is good news.
Does anyone know what time and what Cable Channel in Portland the game is on tonight?

Cam,
I think if you read that a little more carefully it is saying that Alex smith might only get one series.  I think that it mentions that Brett will see significant playing time tonight.

I defer to your more carefull reading of this article and made the correction above. I would much rather believe your take than my initial sense of the article.

I understand that CBS is broadcasting it nationally but it does not appear to be available in Portland for some reason.  I hope I am wrong yet again today.
