If he has truly been suspended from school, then this was not his 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd offense.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

football players Ian Hooper and Nick Bjork are depressed by the cancellation of their regular playing season.
[/sup]

Lewis & Clark's student paper ran this article on L&C shutting down its NWC play:  LC football will not include league games

Excerpts:

---Student Kelly Rogala ('08) felt the the decision "may be an indication of the attitude the school harbors towards football."

---Julian Gordon ('06) a right-guard and member of the offensive line had this to say: "I just want to emphasize that I feel cheated by the fact that the team was left in the dark while the discussions regarding our upcoming season were going on. We are all realists and can accept that it might not be in the school's best interest to play all the games on our schedule, but to deliberately exclude the people who are most affected by any decision made is disrespectful. Whether this falls on our coaches or the administration can be debated, but ultimately members of the team should have been consulted on the matter."

11 that is a horrible picture,  WOW imagine how they felt !!

Gig Harbor Cat

Hey 11,
When are you getting the pictures back from the Alumni Cat game?

There have been too many students from Linfield killed from alcohol use.  I'm sure it is same problem at many colleges.  When I was there we lost a good first baseman due to speed and a lot of alcohol.  For people to say, "it's just college kids having fun", is part of the problem.  Luckily no one was hurt.  It is too easy to forget those who have been killed.

Tux - Prediction: you'll take issue with most, if not all, posts coming from Bearcat fans...IMHO.  ;D

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

light n' darkness

only one person kicked off the team? well, thats something. but i bet this does nothing to stop the next party. the problem for locey is that he has to make a stand on something that has nothing to do with his job.

the students that attend college, party! thats fact. as for speed and alcohol, these kids probably all walked to the shin-dig. so its not the concern, although i lost some linfield friends that crashed on their way home from skiing. and a good frind of mine that played tackle crashed on his way home to carlton. i know it happens, but what do you do about it?

if going to parties, making noise, drinking, getting in trouble w/mac finest are reason to be kicked of the team, then i consider myself lucky. if providing alcohol and a house to party is an offense punishable by expulsion, i again am very lucky to have graduated and played for the cats.

i just hope the cats can focus and play like the machine that they are!!!!!!
go cats

My first impression of the drinking incident was basically low key remembering all the 'laws' I broke on campus....but then our new poster 'snider' reminded me of some of mine and other's past.  I've been very fortunate and am still on this planet...not so with some of my other friends.  I think it is human nature for us all to stand around and think, "Oh, it's not going to happen to me."  France and England stood around and said that to themselves while Hitler drug us all in to WWII..."I wonder" how many of the Feds, New Orleans gov't and private citizens stood around and said the same thing to themselves as Katrina tracked towards them.  It's just human nature to think it won't happen to us....but it does happen and that's why we need laws and laws that are enforced.

Sorry for the young man who had to receive the discipline...but it will make him a better man if he learns from this lesson.

We are our brother's keeper.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Jay Locey, Bobby Bowden, Lou Holtz, you name it they have all had this happen.  THis should not be a reflection on the coach or the program.  All kids drink and sooner or later somebody gets caught.  What do people want coaches to do, hold hands of the players after they leave the lockeroom.  The fact of the matter is that the linfield staff is all class and will handle the situation quickly and effectively.  The question is not who is in trouble it is ,,,,,,Is the National Champioship run going to be effected and the answer is NO.  They did not lose a key cog to the team, they merely were blessed with a happening that can turn into a good lesson.  I partied in college lord knows we all did, they got caught, slap the wrist and lets get going, stop talking about this it is boring.
My predictions for this weekend is that Linfield and Montana will have the same outcome.  More partying and celebrating that wonderful thing called the bye week.
What do you linfield guys do during a bye week, you must go crazy without a game...

Tuxguy's post made me think. What are some of you doing with the Cats idle this weekend. As soon as I log off, it's up to Sacto for the UC Davis - Sac State game, aka the Causeway Classic. Have a good weekend all. ;D
