Yep, 5 INTs and 6 TOs overall aren't going to win you ball games. From what I heard, ULV put 10 in the box and dared UPS to pass, and they couldn't. This had to be Carlson's worst game @ UPS. He completed 8 passes, but 5 to the Leopards. The defense stopped ULV's run game, but couldn't stop their passing. Tough loss for the Loggers. It should be an interesting game next week @ home for homecoming against Willamette.

Their consistant, kinda like Linfields offense

Just wondering when the Lutes last losing season was. I can only see a couple gimmies on the scxhedule

swede, I was just thinking that. I looked it up and their winning season streak started in 1969. It will take a huge turnaround not to see it end this year. I see only Chapman and Menlo as the two games the Lutes would be favored, with UPS being a toss up. Whitworth would have to be favored to beat them, and probably Willamette, too. It will be a tough road trip to Ashland to take on Southern Oregon. And next Saturday the 'Cats are waiting.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Thoughts....

I'm surprised by the margin of the PLU score.  I thought they have a tough chance to win that game but it looks like the PLU defense is still going though growing pains under their new 4-2 scheme.

Willamette....not very surprised that the Bearcats opened a can on Menlo.  Willamette has played some stiff competition and it must have felt nice to run wild on an undisciplined team like the Oaks.

The big surprise of the day was UPS getting kicked in the teeth by the Leos.  There goes that SCIAC North title this year.  That's a MAJOR set back for any playoff hopes the Loggers might have had after the 2-0 start.  Carlson with 5 picks.....I hate to see a vet like him put up those types of numbers.

IMO, I think the NWC is having a down year compared to the conferences standards.

Lewis & Clark:  Need I say more?

PLU:  The 'Lutes are still smack dab in the middle of rebuilding the program with The 'Stash.  I still say PLU will be a playoff force in the near future.  Scott just needs to find is "inner Frosty"

UPS: Getting better but still not to that level.

Willamette:  It seems that this happens to Coach Speckman every couple of years.  He has a crap year but his young kids get the experience and they build up to a playoff caliber squad but then graduate a big chunk of talent and then start over again.  This is one of those years.

Whitworth: Another solid year but not a program that strikes fear when you see them on the schedule.  Think next season will be the Rats year to really contend for the NWC crown.

Linfield:  While Linfield looks really strong I just think this isn't a kick butt and take names for the NWC.

I was looking for a website that showed the box scores with individual statistics from last year's Linfield games. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Not sure but if you go to Linfields official site you may find it.

ULV was pumped up to play the Loggers today.  I know UPS isn't exactly an aerial juggernaut but they're not that bad, right?  I'll just chalk it up to the Leps D.  They wanted revenge after the embarrassment the Loggers inflicted on them last season.  Now if they would have came out with that kind of fire against Whitworth I think their record would look a little different.

Good game PLU. I hope the trip home was safe and uneventful.

Good luck the rest of the season!
