Desertcat,

When the twins hear that you're stepping out with a blonde Okie, I bet they'll return pretty fast.

I wish we could join you down there.  I know you'll represent us well.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I dont know about you guys but every time i think about wildcat football i think about the sideline reminders.  Crazy how something sticks in your head for the rest of your life....
Talk about a cool feeling end of pre game practice.  everyone on the same page believing, and in unison (sp?) spouting the words...
gives me chills to hear the words....
Dont give up on the cats yet........long season, and everyday, sure is a good day to be a wildcat!!!

How do we substitute:  "Hustle on, hustle off, call the mans name."
Everybody in the ballgame, Offense: "Right"  Defense: "Left" Special teams: "In the middle"
Punt and punt return ready to go on: "3rd down."
Unusual formations: "Take a look at them and call time out."
Time outs per half: "3 save one for thelast play of the half."
Who can call a time out: "Any player," What do they have to do: "Sprint to the nearest official and call time out."
Kicking game rules: 1) "Don't be off sides" 2) "don't rough the kicker" 3) "dont block below the waist" 4) "dont clip" 5) "catch the ball"
Goaline defense: 1) "attitude!!!!"  2) "create a line of scrimmage two yards deep, get up and play football"  3) they will not score on the: "run"  if they pass it must be: "over the top"
Goaline offense: 1) "attitude!!!"  2) "create a line of scrimmage two yards deep"
3) "sustain!!!"

Zmotion10 out on 2 :
Where can I go in Abilene to get some of that great Texas BBQ I've heard so much about?

RedandPurple,
You gotta go to Harold's Pit Barbecue on Saturday before the game.  It's a family owned restaurant and in my opinion is the best barbeuce in town. (Open 11-2:30...I'm almost 100% positive they are open on Sat.  I'll check, and if not I'll let you know.)  I recommend the large Q Basket ($4.98 after tax before drink).  It's a chopped brisket sandwich that comes with two sides.  I usually get the fries and cobbler.  Strawberry and Blackberry cobbler are outstanding, but you never know what kinds he's gonna have until you show up.  The hot water jalapeno cornbread is also worth trying.  What really makes this place special is his signature barbecue sauce.  If you like spicy, there is also Harold's "Damn Hot" relish.  You'll find it to the right of the coke machine by the ketchup and barbecue sauce.  However, I suggest you try a little on the side before putting any on your food, because as the name suggests......

Also on the menu is chopped brisket, sliced brisket, ribs, sausage, and turkey.  I have never eaten there on the weekend, but a crew of us at work goes several times a month during the week.  There is likely to be a line close to, or even out the door when you show up.  Don't be discouraged, it moves fairly quickly.  Harold likes to talk to his customers, so be ready for him to strike up a conversation with you.

Harold's is located at 1305 Walnut.  Pine Street borders the east side of the Hardin Simmons campus.  From the campus, go south on Pine until you hit North 13th.  Turn left on North 13th and go one block.  You'll see Harold's at the corner of North 13th and Walnut.

If it's steaks you're after I would suggest Joe Allen's (301 S. 11th) or Lytle Land & Cattle Co. (1150 E.S. 11th).  If money is no object, the steaks at Copper Creek (4401 Loop 322) are supposedly the best in town.

The Q Basket at Harold's may be the way to go though.  Don't wanna spoil your appetite for ZMotion's fajitas!  Hope you enjoy your time in Abilene.  I know the game will be a good one.

Anyone go to the archive broadcast of last Saturday's WOU game and listen to the Coach Smith interview like I did? Interesting.
Also interesting is WOU won the coin toss and deferred again this year. Worked this time I guess.

Weak Safety:

Wow, thanks for all the info. My mouth started watering as I read your post. Sounds like us Linfield fans are in for some real Texas hospitality this weekend. BBQ and Blackberry cobbler sound great. Looking forward to a good game.

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

I think I'll have to cook up some good BBQ at home so I can get in the spirt for Saturdays game.  Darn I wish I could make the trip.  Better get some good cobler recipes for the wife to work on!!!!  3 more days! ;D
Go Cats!

Desert Cat,

Glad to hear you're Texas bound....strap on the spurs and enjoy the trip...isn't there a song that was originated in Texas..."tie a yellow ribbon (purple ribbon in this case) around the old oak tree"....let's hope the Cats tie up those Cowboys big time!

GO CATS!!![/b]

Cats get back on track this week.  Steal the MO early and win by 1 ( big D scores in this one-pick on a swing pass to the flat) 24-23.

Kind of skinny but a W none the less

GO CATS

Launch the purple frisbees.

At this point a win is a win.  I'll take it.
