'Cats Fa Natic

Did anyone catch the Monday Night game?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!   ::)

I only watched a part of it but found something better. Oddly:

"NEW YORK (AP) -ESPN's Monday night NFL game was watched by more viewers than any show in cable TV history except a 1993 debate between Al Gore and Ross Perot. "

Did anyone else find the new format of the "fastest three minutes in television" to be really awful? It was blurry, had wierd camera angles, zoomed in and out for no reason. Bleah.

Anyway as I said before, If your going to look at that call, look at all of them! Each, in it's own way could have an impact on the game.

Yes, very true. There was a definite offensive pass interference on an Oklahoma TD that was NOT called that would definitely have changed the game. Plus, as I said before, it wasnt' the refs who blew all three time outs, leaving none for the final drive. If OK had just one of them, they'd have been a lot closer for that final kick. Which was legitimately blocked--replay or no.

Don't know why everybody is getting so worked up about that Oklahoma game. I thought the refs blew it a number of times on both sides of the ball,
but that's the way the ball bounces. I mean it's not like it involves Linfield 'cause thats a different story.

Hope to see ya all at the Homecomming tailgater. My 3rd grade grandson is playing tackle football with his first game this Saturday. He's only a small guy but loves to knock people around so he'll be playing LB. I need to borrow #92's tape of the '84-'86 championship games so he can watch LND and see how to put the hurt on the opponent.

Don't know if anyone posted this (I didn't wade through a couple of the back pages I missed), but found this comment in Tuesday Morning Quarterback, Gregg Easterbrook's column at ESPN.com Page 2, quite interesting. It was in his "Running Up The Score Watch" section:

"Meanwhile Mount Union College -- year-in, year-out home of the worst sportsmanship in Division III -- relentlessly ran up the score on Otterbein, winning 71-14."

Easterbrook needs to be less cryptic about his feelings...

I woke up today feeling quite good about Linfield's prospects. OneArmed encourgaed me with his story of how an 0-2 SJU team went to the semifinals.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Great pics....and the 'Cats will be just fine.

Images from the HSU/Linfield game are available to be viewed on the front page under the Photo Galleries link.  Check them out!

RedandPurple, it was very nice meeting you Saturday night.  It was my pleasure capturing moments from the game, and I had a lot of fun doing it.

Hope to see you all in McMinnville again next year!

Josh:
Thank you for the great pics. You'll be receiving my order shortly.
It was good meeting you also. When you go to Linfield you're going to love the CATDOME. Be sure to get the teriyaki beef on a stick the Hawaiian students sell. Ruby Tuesdays is the place to eat after the game.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

R&P,

Not to take money from the students, but I believe I make a pretty mean Hawaiian Teriyaki stick at our tailgate.  Mrs. coco and  coco make Hawaiian style pulled pork and Meatballs that are out of this world. Plus all the other food that people bring and a little GHC longie to top things off.   :D   Josh is welcome to try both. Mine are free, and the visitors are always Welcome to partake with us!......... Nice photos Josh!

I know we probably need it to get guys healthy and prepare for the Bearcats, but I never have liked  the bye week!
I'm ready for some Football!
Bring on the Bearcats!

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Tux,
Please save me one of your Teriyaki Sticks a week from Saturday. I'll be sure to bring a little Alaskan contribution to the tailgater.  Looking forward to the friendly confines of the Catdome and a victory over the Bearkitties!

GO CATS --- Lots of time left in the season!

Need proof the Wildcats shouldn't panic? In 2001, St. John's opened the season with two losses. Their third loss didn't come until the semifinals of the NCAA playoffs to Mount Union who went on to win the Stagg Bowl.

If the Wildcats can make it back to the semifinals as they did in 2005, Smith will be considered a genius and no one will remember a short two-game skid to open the season.

hope the week off proves fruitful and 'Cat nation runs to board to the playoffs, good luck

Great pictures, Josh. You're going to have fun at the Catdome next year.

Tuxguy does make super BBQ sticks. We don't even take ours anymore.

WC64,

Going to be great to see you at the tailgate next weekend.  Hope everything is going well in the land of Ice and Eskimos.  A little Alaskan contribution, Salmon or Halibut, or even a surprise.  Whatever you bring it will be great to see you again.  Everything is the BH urban renewal district is going well.  new tax statements should be out soon.  I have asked that they make a special exemption for you since you are not here often.  I thought it was going to work out ok until someone found out who you are.  Now they want to double your share!  I just can't figure it out.

I just might have to stop by and try them out. Pulled pork and meatballs...ono grinds!
Where do you tailgate at?

Here's a link to the news register article concerning last week's game. Sounds encouraging.  http://www.newsregister.com/news/story.cfm?story_no=212934

Topcat 1,

Looking forward to seeing y'all -- (borrowed from last weeks posts) with a little Alaskana in hand.  Thanks for keeping those taxes down on the old homestead and I'll be sure to bring my checkbook!
Anyone gathering for a little pre-game function  Friday night at the Elks  or have you moved the group elsewhere?

I do say that I was a little amused at some of our poster brethren from the Great State of Texas about their size and where in the world is Oregon....close to Montana, etc. etc.  We have a saying in Alaska..."If those Texans don't be quiet, we'll cut Alaska in half and then Texas will be the third largest State in the Union".....I guess we have to sit on the Texas jokes until next year when we play Hardin-Simmons and have the opportunity to even the playing field....Note to our newfound Texan friends:
I hear you were most hospitable and warmly welcomed the Cat fans---next year we get the opportunity to reciprocate (and hopefully reverse the scoreboard score as well)!

GO CATS !!!
