Some fitting sports quotes for this last weekend,

Men forget everything; women remember everything.
That's why men need instant replays in sports!
They've already forgotten what happened.
Rita Rudner

We're supposed to be perfect our first day on the job,
and than show constant improvement!

'64, Sticks will be waiting for you!!
Have a great night all!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I don't know if we'll have kalua pig at homecoming, but we'll try to do the meatballs. Were you the one talking about good places to eat in Mac? The Brew Pub is one of our favorites, and they have a good selection of beer and wine. The Trask has also re-opened. We ate there recently and it was great.

'64,

We're looking forward to seeing you wherever you are. Ditto about the hospitality to the Texans next year.

Speaking of good eats in or near Mac.  Who remebers the Log Cabin?  I know it burned down but man, those piles of French Fries still warm my dreams :)

Best of Mac in my opinion:

Nick's Cafe - Italian
Golden Valley Brewpub - American Bar Food
Blue Moon/Delux Billiards - Burgers/Fries
Thai Country - Thai Food
Parkway Foods - Sandwiches
El Primo/Mazatlan/Taco Bell - Mexican
Tommy's/Wildwood - Breakfast
Kame - Japanese
Elks Club - Booze
Oregon Hotel Rooftop Bar - Scenery
China House - Dive Bar with Karaoke and Chinese food to go  ::)

The Log Cabin was a place you could get full.

In Mac there's La Rambla for tapas, too, if you like Spanish food.

Bye week sure sucks.....

Bluenote,

No offense to your recommendations, but I cannot imagine any Texan eating Mexican food in Oregon.  That would be like going to Kansas for fresh seafood.   :o  Especially if Taco Bell makes the list of best Mexican restaurants.  After all, we invented Tex/Mex cuisine.   ;) ;D

roocru...that's cool. After reading spiritof86's story about his conversation with a Texan a few pages ago...I can understand your thought process better.  ;D

PS....I liked Taco Bell better when they had the chili cheese buritos!

Roocru...

Best mexican in Mac is a no brainer...a little hole in the wall open 24 Hours!!!  Muchas Gracias!!!  It got raided by immigration and shut down for about three weeks back when I was in school if that tells you anything about the authenticity...Worst three weeks during my time at Linfield!  :'(  Long live Carne Asada Nachos and and rolled tacos at 3 AM after a couple of 99 cent(no state sales tax!) 32oz. of High Life, the champagne of beers!!!   :P ;D

My wife and I spent a week in Oregon a few years ago when our son was playing and UMHB played Wilammette.  We toured your beautiful state before returning to Texas the following Saturday.  The scenery was gorgeous and the weather was great (a little cooler in Oregon in September than Texas  ;) ) .  Our favorite foods were the seafood and shrimp we had on the coast.  I also loved experimenting with some of your native brews !!!  We tried Mexican one time (don't remember where)  and vowed we would not do that again.  So, I'll have to take your word about Muchas Gracias.   ;D

I started reading this board back then, continued when my son played Linfield in the Stagg and have kept up with you guys since.  My best wishes to the Cats and the Bearcats and I hope if you guys meet a Texas team down the road it will be a rematch from the Stagg Bowl and not a rematch of this year.  ;)

Oh my goodness Bluenote, I thought I was the only one that loved the chili cheese burritos from T-bell.

Couldn't believe it when they took them away :'(

I think they were called Chilitos back in the day :D

A few years ago when I was living in the midwest but visiting Maine, the waitress at an oceanside restaurant there recommended that I try the roast beef. I suggested to her that if I was after roast beef, I would have stayed in St. Louis. It is suspected that the restaurant was long on beef at that moment and was trying to move it.

Greetings NWC from Wisconsin.

UW-Stout has Whitworth coming in and I was wondering if someone here could tell me what kind of offense I will see Saturday from the Pirates.

Joel Clark, the Pirates qb, is an athletic threat to run or pass. After 3 years he has an excellent grasp of the offense and is probably the best qb in the NWC at this point. (Give the 'cat guys some time....) A major threat on the Rat O is their huge (even by Wisconsin standards) tight end. He is like a quicker version of that tight end that Whitewater had last year- and may still have (i am not sure if he graduated or not).

Someone more in the know can fill you in on their D.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Although the monkey is a little, well, weird... I prefer Alf's burgers.
