"LCC vs. CC

The battle of the C's! Colorado College has been terrible for years, and I don't expect them to get any better anytime soon.  However, LCC is equally bad, and they're playing in that high altitude Denver dryness.  A close game without much defense.  Edge to CC.

CC 21 - LC 14"

I'll get in on this one.  Look for CC by 3 touchdowns, maybe more.  While I agree with your earlier response to Tooth about where CC is in relation to NWC teams it doesn't seem L&C qualifies as a strong NWC.  This isn't a slam just an observation.

CC has some big targets as WR and a good QB.  Oxy secondary provided tight coverage and CC was still able to make the passes they needed to move the ball.  Look for 400+ yds of offense for CC.  Unless I have missed something about LC defense it will be a long day.

I hope to be able to listen to the Whitworth game since my SCIAC teams that I would follow are off this weekend.  Like to see Whitworth win a big one on the road

Ah, Wes Suan..one of my all-time favorite Linfield students, player, coach, and all-around good guy.

Not sure when he went home to Hawaii, but was happy for him when he did. Wes first came to Linfield as a freshman in the Fall of 1970. Would it surprise anyone to know that he was terribly shy, and almost non-verbal? It was a joy to watch him grow and mature over those many Linfield years into the fine (and talkative) and skilled person he became.

WC, you're right I just couldn't resist... 8)

Suan was great.  But even better was that half the guys on the team could do a GREAT impression of him.  He was funny...

Another favorite was him telling Payne...

Again in best Suan voice..."We're putting in a new play today, 32 Sucker, ...and you're the Sucker."

It was some rediculous crap where like the center and the two guards pulled and Higgins fakes to the FB and he just got KILLED...

Hi Coco,

Well,  the breakfasts now are not as good as before I am sad to report.  Matter of fact, there are no breakfasts at all.  Since John moved across the street, business fell off and so did  his health.  He ended up turning it over to someone else to run and buy.  They ran it alright, ran it right out of business about 3-4 months ago.  Closed tighter than a drum.  Was bye there Tuesday though and the doors were open and they were working inside.  Don't know if they are taking equipment out or getting ready to open again, but sad state of affairs.  Sometimes you really don't know how good you have it until you move, upgrade, remodel, etc.  For those that remember the same thing happened to the old A&W  here in town.  Great little place with a few tables and drive up service.  Tore the old one down, built a big new one without the drive up service, service went down hill, has had a couple of new owners and now is Chinese.  But not to be the end of the story.  The sons owner who wanted nothing to do with the resturant business is now serving one of the best breakfasts in town.  That right, its Tommy at Tommy's.  Great Service, Excellant Food, and good down home atmosphere!

I haven't had one of the giant hamburgers at John's in Dundee since they moved across the road, but the breakfasts are as good as before.

Muchas doesn't have pinots, in case someone was confused.

Story of the day:  I don't think this happens at the 'Catdome

BTW....I watched the Mac High football game last week and saw 3 personal fouls called on WOU.

Maybe she dropped her contact on his lap. ;)

WC11,

We know that can't happen in McCulloch stadiums restrooms. The Wolves use  them before the game along with the fans.   ;)  ( That's the truth, had several players next to me last year  before they played the Cats.)   :o    I asked the player ,"don't you guys have urinals in the locker room"? He says welcome to d2 Football!

Wheres that Western Oregon guy that pops in every now and then when you need him..... What was his handle? ...........He'd say it's true!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Mac,

Ask a few of the Linfield posters on here that won titles in the 80's if they still count?  Didn't know that you feel that championships had expiration dates?

Did anybody else see the article in the Oregonian that WOU agreed to kick off from their own goal line to start the game this weekend against SOU?  I guess they would rather just get the penalty yardage out of the way right up front from all of the personal fouls they're likely to get in the game and SOU agreed to let them march it off at the beginning...amazing stuff.  :o

Topcat,

No wonder I haven't seen any cars in John's parking lot when I've been by there lately. It was several months ago that we had breakfast there.

Wild Wood has the best breakfasts, IMO.

One of our fellow posters has a great story about a well-known Wildcat at the Someplace Else, but it's up to him to tell it if he wants to.

Without the Cats to listen to on the internet today, I'm a little lost.... I guess I could just watch D-1 football.....but it's just not the same.  Maybe I'll watch the Food Network instead....seems to be the theme this week anyway! :)  Good luck to all NWC teams!  Make us proud!
Go Cats!

After this week, I'm going to post my season preview, and really ruffle some feathers!

Hatchet...please don't make a fool of yourself and think that UPS is ready to step up to Linfield just yet.  Baby steps bro....baby steps.....

We'll see. ;) Honestly, I think Linfield and Whitworth are the teams to beat. UPS has alot of work to do to crawl back from that humbling of yesteryear.

I may ruffle feathers, but I won't be plucking the whole chicken. :)

Let's pull down some NWC wins this week!
