Thanks to all that helped at the tailgate, always fun to see everyone and taste some great food......All in All a good game on sat. It was nice to see a game (Unlike WOU & UWSP) that the other team wasn't going after Elliott, as in the" Personal fouls"!! ........Bluenote, How can you hear me with all that Jazz/Hip-Hop blasting in your headphones? ;D ::) ;D........1 Game at a time......50 in 05...... GO CATS!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Tuxguy,

I saw your comment on the IIAC board.
Yes, we were at  the game on Saturday.  We went on a road trip to the Midwest in early Sept., but got back the night before the Stevens Point game and haven't missed any since then.

We were in Minnesota and Iowa (went to the Wartburg/Augsburg game) and were treated to some great IIAC hospitality by the Warthogs and DutchFan1.

Oh, I'm sure they are bigger and more solid than mine. Even though I've added some extra padding around the middle, he's still got several pounds on me.

d-train...sorry I missed you at the game. Sounds like you were well taken care of though. Very insightful evaluation of the game. I couldn't agree more.

Off the the JV Game at the CatDome. Linfield JV's are playing a semi pro team out of the southern Oregon area, Roseburg, I beleive...can't get enough football!  :-*

ROR...thanks for the photos. That looked like a great setting! Can't beat DIII Football in the fall!

Tuxguy,

Yeah, it was a good game, and it went right down to the wire.  It was their Battle of the Burgs.
The QB for Augsburg, who has had problems off the field, was fun to watch. Good athlete.

Nice to see you all over the weekend. Always good to talk football, at the catdome, with a beer in hand.

Thoughts on the game: Linfield did not play great. The obviously are attempting to establish a running game this year, which is a good thing. They also hardly ever went deep- maybe vary the film that people see on them.

The defense is excellent, they really fly. Great to see Armstrong return to scoring td's, this year from the other side of the ball.

Elliot passed at will- his accuracy was great. I agree with dtrain, Linfield was truning busted plays into 20 yard gains which cannot happen. By the looks of the lutes though, I assume they will back and better than ever in a few years. Their qb was good, just a little eager on a few throws.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Question........Bluenote going to the J.V. game made me think.  ???If you play J.V. do you still have 4 yrs left? With the new red shirt rule I was just wondering. And maybe It's always been the same. We didn't have red shirts in PEP Band did we Blue? ;D

JV counts as a year, those same players are on the sideline in uniform on Saturday.

Hey Tux,

I saw you at the game Saturday. It was the end of the first quarter and you were blitzing to the bathroom. I was headed to the concession stand and I couldn't catch you. And since I don't make it a habit of following men into the bathroom (unless I am in need of such), I stopped at the concession stand. I think our seats are reasonably close to one another. I am in Section B, Row M.

Good game and very opportunistic defense. The Haze was da man!

UMHBalum-n-Catland, Sorry I missed you! I've still got some speed from my old Track days when in need. Row Q right on the 50! Well the 49, I'd have to sit on the steps to be on the 50. I'll keep in touch before Homecoming. :)

Even under the old redshirt rule, playing JV counted as a year.
