Does anyone know if the UMHB/Whitewater game will be on internet video? Watched most of the WW/Wartburg game and thought they did a good job with it. Wartburg played a pretty good game for the most part but just couldn't answer and Whitewater beat them down in the long run.

Pat said yes.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

A bit of historical irony about December 7, 1941.  The visiting Willamette Bearcats played the University of Hawaii (see the D3football story) and lost the football game during the weekend of the "day of infamy."  During this December 7, 2008 weekend, the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats (No. 13 ranked Big East champion and BCS bowl participant to be) played the unranked Hawaii Warriors and managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of a looming upset by the Warriors in the last 12 minutes of the 4th quarter, 29-24.  The offensive coordinator who almost managed to guide the Warrior offense to an upset victory is Willamette Bearcat alumnus Ron Lee.

Ey...Calvin there too.

OK, less obtuse posts for the New Year's resolution. Quit expecting 19 year- olds to have a frame of reference for DO.C.'s posts. Heck! The Hot Wheels generation too.

Calvin Lee, Ron's brother, was a 2 time NAIA All American at Willamette. As Head Coach at St. Louis High School, in Honolulu, his (and Ron's) teams won something like 12 large school  football championships.

another + Karma for you Bluenote, Tuxguy and my other friends!!  2 of my favorite purple teams are still in play-offs.  but of course, there is a third purple team I'd like to see there too.  Purpleandred would look nice there too!!I was there the time they won the National Championship vs UMHB.
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Online Mom,

The Cats woulda, coulda, shoulda been there this year.....just look at the facts:

The Cats beat SOU who beat UMHB.......seems to me like the Cats, had they held onto the ball a couple of times this year, would likely be making a trip to the see you in December at Stone Station.

Oh well, we only have ourselves to blame for not getting to come East and enjoy some of your brownies!

BN--agree that it was another "almost" year for Willamette and its coaching alumni.   Sorta like the OSU coaches Danny Langsdorf and Jay Locey who "almost" made it made to the Rose Bowl.   But hey, Willamette still won the conference and made it to the post season as did OSU and Hawaii (including Southern Oregon alum McMackin).    ;D

OK...so what do you want me do do?....jump up and down and do a jig? The Beavers couldn't get it done, they were outplayed this year. Just like Willamette.... when they got to the 2nd round.  :-*

Talk about going "Full Circle" - that's just a bit too coincidental.
Ron Lee also served as Offensive Coordinator at Willamette - briefly (just for one season, according to his Bio).
Thanks for the post, river!

BN--thanks for the offer.  I accept.   If you can put it on a video, and put it online for all of us NWC fans whose teams didn't make it to the post-season or whose team did, but left after two games in the playoffs, I'm sure it will help keep our spirits up while we watch from the sidelines for the next couple of weeks.  P.S. maybe you can throw in a trombone solo too!   :)

Calvin and Ron were part of the Hawaii pipeline that went astray when they came to the Mainland.

For the record, Willamette was "outplayed" for a little more than one half (in 12 games) against the defending D3 national champs, and lost by 3.

On a side note -- and admittedly this link probably has no place on the D3 boards, but -- I can't help it,  being an avid Ducks fan
