You can't even compare our Cats to your club, since you play in the So Cal Pee Wee league.

I guess this means you'll begin getting the Conestoga wagons provisioned, the canvas covers stitched, and the wheels re-plated. The Oxy-Linfield game is scheduled for Sept. 19, and the 950-mile trip should take you about 60 days, so plan on leaving McMinnville around July 1 just in case some of the oxen go lame.

OxyBob
Bob, do we need to ford any rivers along the way, and how is the hunting?
Go Cats!

Don't worry about any rivers, but hunting may be a bit of an issue.  The natives don't like outsiders on their land so be sure to stay indoors at night.  Especially if you plan on venturing southeast of your destination...

Practice?  We talkin about practice???

The Occidental game is a plus. This is one Wildcat fan who'll make the drive over to California from Arizona to watch the game.

That's near where I live....at least the east part (but I was originally following up on Bob "Oregon Trail" reference).

I, for one, am glad that we're playing OXY on their home field.  Maybe that'll shut up OXY BOB once and for all that the only reason OXY has lost in the past was that they have had to always play at the Catdome and never had home field advantage.

Well we just took that excuse out of the play book.

Press release from the Willamette website: Jerry Long, a former Bearcat assistant (1955-60) who later worked with Tommy Prothro at Oregon State and UCLA, and Pepper Rodgers, Dick Vermeil, and Terry Donahue at UCLA, passed away on Wednesday.

During his time at Willamette under Ted Ogdahl, the Bearcats went 29-17-5 (19-7-4 NWC), including back-to-back-to-back conference titles in 1958, 1959, and 1960.

Lately Linfield's reputed prowess has varnished into thin air. I'd say you're finished.

.....we still have a few warts to sand off but Oxy won't be any trouble. Hope you still have that big slow QB next year. He'd be fun to pancake.

OXY has been beaten by large scores on trips to the NWC lately. That is sometimes referred to as "being shellacked."

I think OxyBob is right.....I think we are finished.....I think I will find another SCIAC game to go to that day.....wonder who Redlands will be playing ?

HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa,
OxyBob  does it again.................Vanished?

As I've learned from the MIAC boys, until you beat a team, don't count them out/ or put them down. ( It always bits you in the A$$ ))

I can't remember, what is the record Linfield vs. Oxy?,,,,,,,,,,, Oh  :o  The games I remember are 2004, 56-27 and 2005, 63-21.

I'd just like to thank a team from the land of Fruits and Nuts for answering a phone call........Now if Redlands and some others would check the team answering machine's ...........or just pick up the phone when it rings, we might get a few more games in.

Hope everyone enjoys the Stagg Bowl today.........I pick the team with the colors purple.  ;D

For the record, I pick the young boys from cheese country to win by more then 7.
Good luck Warhawks.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Okay....i'm on the WarHawk bandwagon...after all it gives me an excuse to use this icon:)  However, I am sad to say that my whole heart is not in this game as I am very tired of seeing Div III being dominated by so few teams....
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I'll second that! And speaking of second, congratulations on your third straight!

You glossed over my post and you're obviously very lacquerdaisical. If your team plays like you guys read, then Oxy will wax them, but at least you'll go out in a glaze of blory.

After watching the Stagg Bowl, Willamette should be proud.    In the 2nd half, WWW outplayed Mount Union.    Two missed field goals and a tipped pass interception return for a TD was the difference.

Earlier, if Willamette had a better first half, they might have beaten WWW.   Clearly, Willamette was the 3rd best team in Division III this year.    Reminded me of Linfield in 2003, giving Champion St. John's their toughest game in the playoffs.

Next year, the race for the Stagg bowl must run through WWW.    They had just six Seniors on this team.    They will be very loaded for another run in 2009.

To compete against Mount Union and WWW, the NWC needs to step it up a notch.
Willamette did it this year.   Linfield did for several years.

Congrats Willamette - Great season
