I'm wondering if the road trips the first part of the season are the most extensive in all of DIII for this upcoming year as far as mileage without a home game to break it up? Not sure because I haven't checked Menlo, Willamette or Whitworth's schedules.....they tend to travel a lot also but usually have a home game instead of 4 in a row away.

The Oregonian ran a story on small college football in the PacNW today.  The story leads with Pacific still trying to get football back in place and the impact of WWU dropping football.

Small College Football tries to call an audible

-Athletic director Ken Schumann said the plan could be put into effect as soon as the fall of 2010 if the school raises $1.5 million to cover initial operating costs and gets the go-ahead from the administration and the board of trustees.

"We have to make a decision one way or another in the next several months to a year," said Schumann, who believes adding football actually would benefit Pacific economically.
