I'm bummed out....(509)Rat is now dust in the wind.  That sucks.  Yeah we had a few dust ups but the guy knew the NWC very well and offered some great thoughts.

Drop me a line (509) and let me know what's up: catdomealumni@yahoo.com
Bummer indeed.
Go Cats!

Does principia's shutdown of football affect any NWC (or SCIAC) schedules?  I can't seem to find much on 2009 schedules but I know L&C and other played Principia last year....

This sucks for L&C.  According to the 2009 schedule they have up on their website, they were going to open against Principia at home.  I'm not even sure how long it's been since the fans on Palatine Hill have seen a home win.  The Pios were also going to be playing their first 10 game schedule since 1996.

On the plus side, they still have Colorado College for homecoming - the week after they play Linfield.

11.
Thanks for the  nice piece on Cole Franklin.  I especially like the  last line  of his article.....looks like he has his goal  set for the  Cats in 2009!

Wildcat 11,

Have you ever heard anything about Oregon Tech even considering bringing back football? Was it strictly financial reasons or lack of support by the school which led to the demise of the program? I guess if they returned it would be NAIA, though.

Did your delivery arrive safe and sound Wednesday?

wildcat11

Hey SC,

Yes, the eagle did land back home for me.  Thanks for getting that back so quickly!

In terms of OIT...I can't speak why they killed the program in the early 90's but I've never hear a peep about them bringing back football.  I think they are very comfortable being a NAIA DII basketball powerhouse.

64,

Cole is a great kid and looking forward to watching him play the next two seasons.  I have a great player blog for this upcoming Monday so be sure to check back in.

Very Cool story in the Statesman Journal today on former Linfield assistant coach, Ryan Devlin, who's been working with the Arizona Cardinals this season in the 'Cards video department.  Great guy and a great asset to any football organization but he'll always be a Wildcat!

Video intern has big opportunity

11,
Great article on  Ryan....thanks for posting.  With the knowledge he  has accumulated he  would be a real asset to some Head Coach (like the  Wildcats) back on  the sidelines....maybe bring the Catdome another  National  Title.

GO CARDINALS!

Nice find, WC11. He's done pretty well for being only 26.
Thanks for the link.

I hope all you guys have your beer and snacks ready to go.

Catdomealumni.com's "ADvantage Catdome" has a great player blog for you today.  Sophomore slot receiver, Ryan Henderson, blogs about coming up through the scout team to getting a shot to play.

And the hits just keep on coming on ADvantage Catdome's player blogs.

WC11, do you have a hard time getting players to write these? They do a great job.

Nope.  The players are great about sharing and are more than willing to take part.  Also, the coaching staff is very supportive in allowing this to happen.  If there is anyone specifically you want to hear from drop me a line and I'll see if I can make it happen.

11,
Great piece by Ryan.....he epitomizes why the Cats have been a great program over the  past 50+ years.

Wildcat11...thanks for the stories. I would like to hear from Brett Elliot and his experience at Linfield. I would like to hear his take on the 2004 team vs 2005. I thought we had a good chance to repeat in 2005 but were stopped....could we get his take on why? Also...could he tell us if he thinks Linfield has any chance of getting back in the playoffs in the near future? Or will we have another 6-3 or 5-4 team next year again?

Hey! Where've you been? Keep it alive! Good to see you post.
